Tried the much-talked-about Meghana Special Biryani today at Meghana Foods. Being a fan of Hyderabadi-style biryani, I finally decided to see what the buzz was all about. I ordered their boneless Meghana Special Chicken Biryani along with a regular sweet lassi. Portion size? Generous is an understatement. Easily enough for two people if paired with a starter or soup. I’m someone with a big appetite, and even I found it difficult to finish. The flavor was good, the chicken was tender, and the spices were well-balanced. But somewhere along the way, probably due to the sheer quantity, the excitement wore off, and the meal started to feel a bit overwhelming. Add a full glass of lassi to that, and I was definitely stuffed. Overall, it was good but didn’t quite live up to the hype I’ve often heard. Worth trying once for the experience and quantity, but personally, I wouldn’t place it as the absolute best biryani in Bangalore.

One of the unique biryani, you will get it nowhere else.. A little spicy and good for the quick lunch coz it’s crowded. We had ordered prawn biryani , chicken and mutton biryani and few starters.

I had the best biryani experience at Meghana’s in Bengaluru. The flavors were rich, the spices perfectly balanced, and every bite felt authentic. Their Mushroom Biryani was a surprise hit—loaded with juicy mushrooms, spicy masala, and served with raita, it was super satisfying even without meat. Easily one of the most memorable biryanis I’ve had!

Ordered veg dum aloo biryani & there were prawns in the order I received. How irresponsible can this restaurant be? Feeding thousands of people are eating every single day. There you just lost me as one of your customers and maybe many more vegetarians like me.

Absolutely loved the biryani! I used to be a huge fan of Meghana Biryani until their quality started to decline. After eight years of skipping this place due to repeated disappointments, I decided to give it another try—though with a lot of skepticism. To my surprise, it turned out to be really good. I tried the Meghana Special and Paneer Biryani, and both were packed with flavor. The rice was well-seasoned, and the masala was perfectly spiced. The chicken was tender and complemented the masala and rice beautifully. I’m glad I gave it another chance, and I look forward to trying more from here. Hopefully, their slump is finally over!

They have different table sizes to accommodate both couples and larger groups. There's also good parking ️available for two-wheelers and roadside parking for four-wheelers, which is very convenient. The food prices are affordable , and there are plenty of options available. The portions are generous, true to their tagline "likes giving more." So far, I've tried the Fried Kabab Wings Meal , Crispy Chicken Strips Meal , Ghee Rice with Butter Chicken, Chicken Supreme Pizza , Fried Chicken Kabab (highly recommended), and Chicken Tandoori Seekh Kabab. I also tried the soft drink orange punch , Everything tasted really good , and the portions were very big. Overall, Al Daaz is a great option in Bangalore for dining with family or friends at an affordable price. This place is a total gem for food lovers. The staff were so warm and welcoming, always checking in with a smile and suggesting great dishes. The food was just incredible. I loved the smoky, juicy Al Faham Chicken, and the Chicken Biryani Boneless was packed with flavor, with rice cooked just right. Crispy Chicken Strips were also super tasty, made with fresh ingredients. The portions are huge, easily enough for two people, which is awesome for sharing with friends or family. And the prices? So reasonable for what you get. I was shocked at how affordable everything was, from pizzas to tandoori dishes. The menu has something for everyone, with Indian, Arabic, Chinese, Italian, and Mexican options. I tried a Blue Curacao Lemonade Mojito, and it was so refreshing. The vibe is cozy but lively, and the place is spotless. Al Daaz nails it with great food, big servings, low prices, and tons of variety. I’m already excited to go back and try more.[/su_testimonial][su_testimonial name="Vizo Chanda (☆ 5/5)" photo="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/a-/ALV-UjWBW1HUifmkWMsnw_xq9sV7pNgjaNHAyMfOZe8K2ZUy9Z0dF1S1Lw=s120-c-rp-mo-ba4-br100"]First off, the portion size is huge for the price they quote. I dined in with my family for lunch and we were expecting regular portion size but when the food came, we were pleasantly surprised. My recommendation would be the prawn ghee roast & parotta. For ₹380 per plate, the prawn ghee roast portion is so big that it can easily feed 3 people. And so are the biryani and the seekh kebabs. The food was delicious and service was very quick considering that it was a Sunday afternoon and the place was almost packed.[/su_testimonial][su_testimonial name="Kumar Utkarsh (☆ 4/5)" photo="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/a-/ALV-UjVRj1y7wx-MxVpb83jXXeqGtGGlY35rNEf7pVwkTO0x8AX2k4PF=s120-c-rp-mo-ba4-br100"]Good food at an affordable price. Great service provided. Al-faham here is something that I have tried the most. Did not like the chicken wings though as it has a different taste than I've had at many other outlets. Biryani is just okay with a sufficient portion for one (If you have a low intake then it will be good for two as well). Quite a big seating space available. Sometimes you may have to also wait during weekends. Convenient location with two wheeler parking provided. Four wheelers stand on the roadside.[/su_testimonial][su_testimonial name="Nadir Zeeshan (☆ 3/5)" photo="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/a-/ALV-UjWzRMBeqh21irnKlWy9cMONkTReQKjS5A0Lkca4jjP4Wz40vrkq=s120-c-rp-mo-ba5-br100"]Comparing with Empire HSR Layout: Cheaper when compared to Empire. The ambience was not good. A lot of house flies flying around the tables, sitting on plates and all cutlery. There is no option to order half a plate of any item. For example we were 2 people but had to order a full plate of fried chicken strips which were 14 in number. The quality and taste of food was just average. Ordered thandoori piece biryani. Biryani was just khushka. Sheermall was pizza base but it was tasty and light. Pros are, they have provided a good amount of tissues on the table and in the handwash area. A full bottle of mayonese was provided without extra cost.[/su_testimonial][su_testimonial name="Krishma Cauvery M S (☆ 5/5)" photo="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/a-/ALV-UjU_uEQnQAeS-Hv7hFgQrIZlMoRRGz3SeM3FbfPeYNiWk8uAhp5AYg=s120-c-rp-mo-ba3-br100"]I visited this place for the first time. It was friday night and the crowd was we had to wait for 30 mins and we got our table. We ordered chicken cheese nachos(baked) and it was yummy. We were full, but i wanted to try their ghee rice, the quantity and quality is amazing. I couldn't complete it but if you are coming with more than 4 people, it's definitely a good place to try all their amazing dishes. The bill was also so pocket friendly. It just came up to 350 for two. Disappointed with the Flavors Tried the biriyani and found it quite disappointing — overly spicy but lacking real depth or taste. It didn’t deliver the rich, aromatic flavor you’d expect from a good biriyani. Even more frustrating was the chicken starters — we ordered both Pepper Chicken and Lemon Chicken, but they tasted almost identical. No distinct flavor, just the same base with a different name. Unfortunately, the overall experience was underwhelming, and I wouldn’t recommend it based on this visit.

Checked out Meghna Biryani and completely understood what the hype is about. I tried the Special chicken biryani and prawns fry for starters. The biryani was delicious, it was filled with spices and was appropriately spicy, the chicken was very tender and tasty. The prawns were fresh and their masala was amazing. The drinks were also quite refreshing. Definitely recommend trying meghna foods if you are in BLR!

Excellent service and a great dining experience! We tried several dishes and were impressed overall. The lemon chicken was absolutely delicious and a must-try item. As expected, the biryani was flavorful and satisfying, but the special boneless chicken biryani stood out—it was even better than the regular ones. We also had kebabs, which were good, though not exceptional. Even the curd rice was tasty and well-prepared. Highly recommend this place for its quality food and top-notch service!

Absolutely loved it, the quantity might be a bit too much for one person and the biryani I ordered had about 12-15 pieces of chicken and the rice was aromatic and really flavourful. This place is usually very crowded so I would avoid going on weekends. This was probably the best Biryani I had in Bangalore.

Visited RNR Biryani recently at their Jayanagar outlet, and it was a packed house! The place was buzzing with people, and there’s no online reservation system, so we had to write down our name and wait around 15–20 minutes to get a seat. The wait, however, was totally worth it. We tried quite a variety from their menu: RNR Special Mutton Nalli Fry – rich and flavorful Lemon Chicken Dry – tangy with the right spice kick Bombay Chicken Leg Chilli – a fiery delight Donne Chicken Biryani – aromatic and perfectly cooked Mutton Keema Balls – absolutely delicious, especially when paired with chapati Mutton Bone Soup – comforting and well-spiced Mutton Fry – tender and packed with flavor Ended our meal on a sweet note with their Jelly Dessert, which was refreshing and light. We went around 9:30 PM and the place stays open till 11:30 PM, making it a great late-dinner spot. Overall, a very good experience with great food and fast service despite the crowd. Will definitely visit again to try more from the menu!

Visited RnR Biryani on Monday and had a good overall experience with both the food and service. Naati Koli Rasam – The flavor was enjoyable, but it’s best consumed hot. Unfortunately, we received the last portion, which slightly impacted the experience. Mutton Nalli Fry – While the taste was good, the portion size felt insufficient for the price. The dish had two large bones, but the amount of meat could have been more generous. Naati Style Chilli Chicken – A truly spicy dish where the green chili flakes stand out. The chicken was well-cooked, tender, and flavorful. Highly recommended for those who enjoy heat. RnR Special Kshatriya Kabab – Not a personal favorite. The taste and ingredients didn’t quite meet expectations. Mutton Biryani – The highlight of the meal. The taste was exceptional, with perfectly cooked rice, well-balanced spices, and a rich naati-style flavor. A must-try. Chicken Biryani – Decent, but nothing extraordinary. The initial service was prompt and efficient, but there was a 30-minute wait for the biryani as it was being freshly prepared. While this is understandable, it would have been helpful if the staff had informed us in advance. Dessert: Elaneeru Payasam – Not up to the mark. It tasted more like sweetened water with small pieces of tender coconut. Perhaps it was just an off day for this dish, but I wouldn’t recommend it. Overall, RnR Biryani delivers on taste, especially with its Mutton Biryani and Naati-style dishes. Some improvements in portion sizes and communication about waiting times would enhance the experience further. Enjoy Your food.

WORST RESTAURANT. DO NOT VISIT THIS PLACE. Date of visit: 29-April-2025 Ordered special chicken pepper roast for takeaway. Instructed at the billing counter to make it dry instead of semi gravy. Person said Yes but its still gravy. I have paid 345/- and got a cold dish with lots of oil. Quantity was too less and not even half of the parcel container. Careless idiot people. GAAANCHALI. Visited RNR Biryani in Jayanagar recently, and the food was really enjoyable. The Donne Biryani was the highlight with good flavors. The meat was well-cooked We started with RNR Special Mutton Nalli Fry (Full) – it was spicy, tender, and rich in taste. Definitely a must-try. The Nati Style Chilli Chicken was also good – spicy and cooked well with local-style masala. For the main course, we had the Donne Mutton Biryani – perfectly cooked. Biryani Zone seems like a solid choice for those craving authentic Hyderabadi flavors. Many patrons highlight the exceptional quality of their biryani, noting the delicious combination of spices and generous portions. It’s portrayed as a place where the food is prepared with care and offers a truly satisfying experience. Flavor profiles and spice blends appear to be a key strength.

The restaurant appears to be a destination best enjoyed with company, as the biryani portions are substantial. While the overall service could potentially be improved, the food quality and the promise of genuine Hyderabadi cuisine outweigh any minor shortcomings. It’s a location that promises a rewarding dining experience centered around delicious biryani.

When it comes to starters or main course or a dessert each everything is prepared with quality I must say. I specially loved their biriyani which has tremendous taste of flavours and spicy is mid level, also the quantity of biriyani was heavy which can be easily eaten by 2 people. They serve Hyderabadi dum biriyani, indian, Chinese and tandoori items of both veg and non veg. In starters we had ordered dragon chicken, reshmi kebab, ajwani fish tikka, specially ajwani fish tikka and dragon chicken was ultimate in taste with different masala. In biriyani we tried mutton keema biriyani and chicken leg piece biriyani. Both the biriyani had enough masala and good amount of big pieces, I loved their masala which seems magic in it. And at the dessert we had gudbud icecream and biriyani zome special icecream which was super duper tasty. Over all one should visit if you love Hyderabadi style food. Do visit with your friends and family members for sure.

Decent place for Biryani. But strictly avoid going alone to this restaurant. They do not have smaller portions, the price of 1 regular biryani is 400 and trust me 1 normal person cannot consume more than 40% of what is being served. But they do not hesitate to pack the remaining. Overall a good place, highly recommend if you want to go and dine-in with family or friends.

Food is good but biryani options are less. Other options like starters or tandoori and regular curry options are there but found that as the name suggests Biryani Zone, I hardly found variety of options. Don’t go with the name if your coming here. You will get only regular biryani, but its good in taste. I found the pricing a bit high than what you get in other Biryani Outlets serving same variety of biryani.

Lovely biryani, Hyderabadi style- We had mutton galouti kebbab, Murgh malai tikka and Hyderabadi mutton dum biryani along with masala lassi and cold drinks. Every item was too good, loved every bite. Portion size is little less , and service bit slow if you are looking for dum biryani, so rating a 4 star. The place is cozy with few tables to dine in.

It was amazing to be very honest. The food was all yum. We first ordered lemon chicken for starters which was great…then we went for chicken chettinad and kadhai paneer n both were good…at last we took custard which was the star of the show. Custard was just for 80rs and had all the exotic fruits like dragon fruit, kiwi, etc with enough quantity. Great place to visit with family and friends.

I recently dined at Shanmukha Restaurant, and it was a delightful experience! We started with the mancho chicken soup, which was flavorful and perfectly spiced—a great way to begin the meal. The kalmi kebab was also perfectly cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor—highly recommended as a starter. We ordered a small biryani, and the portion was surprisingly generous; it’s definitely enough for two people to share. To top it off, we tried the custard with fruits for dessert, and it was absolutely mouthwatering—creamy, fresh, and the perfect way to end the meal. Great experience overall, and I’d definitely visit again!

Came across Shanmukha Restaurant from the social media which was quite popular for its Hyderabadi style Biryanis. Visited it’s Jayanagar’s branch. The seating, ambience was good, the staff were friendly and the service was decent. Tried some of their Signature dishes like Shanmukha special chicken boneless biryani, Fish special biryani and Shanmukha special chicken wings. The wings were deep fried and were tossed with some masalas which gives it a semi dry kinda dish which tasted good and talking about biryanis, the flavours, spice was on point and tasted really good. The quality and quantity of their biryanis were on another level. Surprisingly, i personally liked special fish biryani more than chicken boneless biryani. A proper value for money when it comes to Biryanis both in terms of pricing(affordable) and quantity which was quite huge when compared to other restaurants. If you are looking for a proper Hyderabadi Biryani, do check out this restaurant.

Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at Shanmukha Restaurant with friends. We ordered Manchuria and biryani, and the portions were impressive. The quantity was more than sufficient, ensuring great value for the price. In terms of taste, the dishes were decent and satisfying, with flavors that were well-balanced and enjoyable. The biryani, in particular, stood out with its aroma and rich seasoning. The service at Shanmukha was commendable too. The staff was attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal. They were prompt and courteous, which added to the overall positive experience. Overall, Shanmukha Restaurant is a great choice if you’re looking for a place that combines good food, decent taste, generous portions, and a pleasant atmosphere. I’d definitely recommend it for a relaxed dining experience with friends or family.

Service is top notch. Food is slightly spicy which is a norm in tamil nadu cuisine. No qualms on that absolutely. Portions of chicken, mutton pieces are well roasted and marinated. The hotel captain Mr. Syed is very warm hearted person and explained to us about the special food fare platter on offer. Will revisit as and when time permits. The experience was good even in their hennur outlet too. Really loved the personal touch in the service provided by Mr Syed the oriya captain of the restaurant.

First experience in this hotel, heard it was famous Tamilnadu style and it didn’t disappoint. Hotel is pretty clean and neat, staff are well behaved and listen to your orders, a large like 15 pages menu of both veg and non veg, We ordered a Chicken soup as starters, tasted pretty good. Then alfaham chicken BBQ and finally the speciality dish ” Dindigul thalapakatty biriyani “. Overall a nice experience and I would recommend to try it once.

This is used to be good. Now, they require an overhaul. Biryani wasn’t that flavourful as their food is prepared from a central kitchen and brought here. Staff does not their specialities in the menu and why it’s special. They require training to be effective and also, make sure someone knows the history of the restaurant too. Overall, experience requires improvement.

So i recently visited Dindigul Thalappakatti on New BEL Road, and it was incredible dining experience! The biryani here is truly exceptional, with each grain perfectly flavored and cooked to perfection. The service was top-notch, esp Mr Along, with friendly and attentive staff ensuring that every need was met promptly. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it perfect for both family gatherings and casual meals. The use of seeraga samba rice in their biryani adds a unique touch, absorbing flavors beautifully and making it easy to digest. We had lunch here . This is a family restaurant with good decor , ambience & seating arrangements. We had their signature item – Thalapakatti Biryani , Lolypop , Inzee Soda and Veg thali. Veg Thali was very good with all the items tasty and aromatic. Lolypop was star product with rich in spices well coated with masala . Biryani was very good. Inzee – Ginger Soda was refreshing and appetising. Staff were very good , attentive and helpful. Service was very good. Over all good dining experience. I recommend this hotel for your good Experience.

The people especially the Manager was extremely cooperative and considerate that they gave us two lime sodas but they gave us wrong information about the Biryani that it was almost ready when seven of the ten plates we ordered for takeaway were on the way in the delivery van and the van was stuck in traffic. We asked them so many times as to whether it was ready because we were kind of in a hurry to get somewhere. I’m not here to criticise or complain but I’m here to request you’ll to please give correct information whether the food is there or not and if it’s on the way to please inform the same. But overall they had a very high sense of hospitality will be looking forward to buying from you’ll again.

Food was very tasty. Mutton biryani is must try but piece is less. And even veg meals is very good. Chicken 65 is very tasty. Lamb chops can better as it not much worth for money. Ghee rice can be better as it is very sticky. Main issue is lift is not working, so it’s very difficult for elderly people to climb stairs and stairs very narrow and difficult to climb. Customer service and ambiance is very good.

Very good service and food. Extremely loved the experience. My bengali mom and dad really loved the experience. There Mutton biryani large was sufficient for three people as well as it was so juicy and flavourful rice. It was not rich unlike others and mild spicy which made it even better. recently visited Sharif Bhai in Koramangala, Bangalore, after seeing numerous influencer videos and positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience I I i i was extremely disappointing and fell far short of expectations. The restaurant itself is quite small and cramped. Upon entering, I was immediately met with a strong, unpleasant chemical smell, likely from recent floor cleaning. While cleaning is important, the restaurant should definitely use a room freshener to mask the harsh chemical odor. The washroom was also in an unhygienic state. Overall, the low level of service and poor ambience, especially the unpleasant smell, completely ruined my dining experience. I would absolutely not recommend this particular Sharif Bhai branch to anyone.

Food: One of the best restaurants in Bangalore for non-veg lovers, especially the one who loves Arabian taste. They have a plethora of chicken and mutton options. though I have not personally tried any non-veg here, I have got the review from my friends who had tried the non-veg options, that the place is the best for non-veg. I have tried the biryani rice which is very subtle and the spices are very well steamed into the rice. A typical Bhai style Briyani . I have also tried egg Mithai, which was so yummy, and I loved it. Service: Service was too good, the staff are friendly and are very attentive. Ambience: Ambience is very pleasant with dim lights giving a royal feel. Good place for a date and also to spend time with family for lunch or dinner.

I had heard a lot about this place. So I went for Team lunch with my colleagues. We ordered Chicken dum biryani, mutton biryani, appetiser, dessert, etc. Mutton biryani and phirni was good but chicken biryani was bland, it was not hot. It felt like they already had prepared and kept it. Even the taste was ok ok, kinda bland. Service was also kinda slow. The waiters forget what we ordered. I had ordered for fresh lime juice as well but it did not come even after i finished my biryani. When i asked the waiter is when he said that its over. He should inform before hand. Whatever i had heard was just a hype. Needs to work on few things. For me it was a first and last time visit. Overall it was an average experience.

If you’re a biryani lover, Mani’s Dum Biryani in Bellandur is a place you must try! Known for its flavorful and aromatic biryanis, this spot delivers a satisfying experience with its well-cooked rice, perfectly spiced meat, and generous portions. One of the highlights here is their IPL Biryani, which is a must-try! The flavors are rich, and the combination of spices makes it incredibly delicious. The biryani is cooked to perfection, with tender, juicy pieces of meat infused with the traditional dum biryani aroma. Their kebabs are equally impressive—well-marinated, grilled to perfection, and packed with flavor. Whether you go for chicken or mutton, you won’t be disappointed. The ambiance is simple yet clean, making it a great place for a quick meal with friends or family. The service is fast, and the staff is polite and helpful. The prices are reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. One of my favourite biryani restaurants and go to places for satisfying my biryani cravings. Though very small from a seating capacity perspective, their Kuska, Egg Biryani, Chicken IPL Biryani and Chicken Biryani regular are too good. The Biryani starts tantalizing the taste buds right from the time one senses its aroma. Unfortunately they discontinued their Mutton Kuska which was amazing and another favourite of mine. One major problem is parking in this area as it is located on a super busy service road along the ORR.

I ordered chicken biryani assuming it would taste good, but unfortunately, the chicken was not even half-cooked. There was visible blood when peeling the pieces apart. I did contact the restaurant, but they showed no interest in addressing my concern. Anyone consuming this should be asked whether the food has been cooked properly, as I’m not sure how such an issue occurred. My rating is based purely on these facts.

How important is the quality of the rice in a good biryani?

The quality of the rice is paramount in a good biryani. The ideal rice is typically basmati rice, known for its long grains, fragrant aroma, and fluffy texture. The rice should be cooked properly – neither too hard nor too mushy – and should be well-infused with the spices and flavors of the dish. Poor-quality rice can significantly detract from the overall experience.

How can I determine if a biryani restaurant uses authentic cooking methods?

Determining authenticity can be tricky, but observing certain aspects can offer clues. Look for signs of the "dum" cooking method, where the biryani is cooked in a sealed pot over low heat to allow the flavors to meld. Authentic restaurants often use traditional clay pots ("handis") for cooking. Checking for the use of fresh spices and high-quality ingredients also suggests a commitment to authentic preparation.
