Today, I attended a resin art workshop at Art Beat, where I created a beautiful clock, and I must say, it was a fantastic experience! The ambiance of the place is warm and inspiring, making it a perfect spot to explore your creative side.

The people at Art Beat are incredibly welcoming and friendly. My session was conducted by Jinal, who was extremely sweet, calm, and patient. She explained every step of the process in a clear and encouraging way, which made the session enjoyable and easy to follow, even for a beginner like me.

While I was there, I noticed several other workshops happening simultaneously, which shows how vibrant and active the space is. They host daily sessions at different times, so there is always something interesting going on.

I absolutely loved the time I spent there. If you are looking to try something new and creative, I would definitely recommend giving Art Beat a visit!

We booked a 3-hour pottery session and happened to be the only participants. The staff was friendly and informative, starting with a short intro before moving on to working with the wheel. We each got to try making a couple of pieces, and the instructor was helpful and patient throughout. Overall, a decent session if you’re curious about pottery and want a beginner-friendly introduction.

Loved it! I took my beginner course with Wheel and Potter. I had flexible timings to attend the classes. Sanchit was a great mentor. He guides us through every step and answers every question patiently. The studio is located in a very nice area and in a covered terrace surrounded by so much greenery. Every class of 3 hours went by effortlessly. It’s completely worth taking classes here.

All the reviews are accurate- this studio is beautiful, peaceful, tucked away in a green and quiet corner of Koramangala, and the daylong Sunday beginners class was so much fun!

Their classes are well structured and paced. Kavitha was a wonderfully patient and positive teacher! After such a good first experience, I’m considering some of the longer term courses offered here… their workshops may seem pricey but they’re truly worth it for the ambience and memories, as well as the self-created artwork you can fire and take home.

A wonderful place to start your journey with clay and the art of pottery. I’d joined the beginners session for a period of 2 months over the weekends and I have to say it was the most beautiful weekends I’ve had! You can find and learn many techniques to make good clay items and can even bake their. The are very friendly and for a moment you will forget that you are even connected to concrete jungle with noise and pollution.

What a lovely studio this is. In the middle of greenery and away from the hustle and bustle of commercial space in HSR. Just the perfect setting to learn something as interesting as Pottery. I saw the pottery basics class and it left me mesmerized. I also got a chance to attend another workshop for stamping and impressions on clay. Loved the clarity of instructions by the trainers here and the chill vibes of this place. Would definitely recommend to anybody who wants to learn arts related to clay modeling. I had a fabulous experience at Maati Sona Pottery Studio’s 5-weekend beginner’s pottery course in March 2024. This program included hand building techniques (pinching, coiling, slab work) and wheel throwing (cylinders, bowls, plates) modules. Arunima, ceramicist and owner of Maati Sona, has a wealth of knowledge and patience to guide students through every aspect of working and moulding clay. She was able to give each of us individual attention and was always eager to respond to our many doubts about technique, materials, process, colours, and so on. Assisting us throughout the course was studio assistant and potter Basha bhai, who was ever attentive and patient. I would highly recommend signing up for beginner’s pottery at Maati Sona, you not only learn a new art form, but also discover inner qualities of your self. The studio is located in a popular area at HSR Layout and has some wonderful pottery for purchase. Do check it out!

Had a wonderful pottery (clayplay session) with Meenakshi. She was friendly while also being informative about the art form. It felt like an actual class instead of simply being a hobby workshop. She guided us very patiently as we learned and failed and learned again, to make animal pinch pots. Oriri Studio has been my go to place for all things ceramics over the last few years! I started taking pottery wheel classes with their instructor Ayushi recently. I must say that she does a great job with her students. I went with my Wife for a Ganesha Idol making workshop. I was initially nervous as both of us do not have any experience with Pottery. The place itself was nice and cozy. Ritu was very kind and patient with us, helped us and guided us very well throughout the process . We had visited Mud Effects Pottery studio few months back. Our visit was primarily as we wanted our daughter to experience the basic pottery. We traveled all the way from Bannerghatta Road (near Meenakshi Mall) to Whitefield for this experience, and it was worth the effort and time.

Mud Effects Pottery Studio is located in the busy locality of Whitefield, on top floor of an apartment complex. Though located in the busy locality, it provides the much needed peace to connect to the nature through pottery.

The tutor is very good in the pottery art and teaches children with a lot of attention and encouragement. The clay and other equipment uses are of good quality.

Mud Effects Pottery Studio is one of those places that will help our children to understand the fun associated with rustic art. It is one of those places that will help children get connected to the nature and have fun sans gadgets.

I feel that we need more of such art studios across the city.

My experience learning pottery with Ritu has been amazing. I have done the basic level of both handmade and wheel throwing and can’t wait to learn more. I’m on a work trip and browsed through some fun activities to do over the weekend. Luckily ended up here! I took Ritu’s beginners 2-hour session and it was awesome! We had a fun crew of 5 other folks. Ritu walked us through the process for 10 min and we were on our own! She walked around to help throughout and was very patient with us. It was a great start to learning pottery. The studio is nice and cozy equipped with all you need to learn also Ritu is a great teacher. She’s extremely patient and friendly which makes is easier for beginners.

In the beginners course you get to work with red clay (terracotta) and learn techniques like centring and pulling. You get to make a bunch of different things like cups, bowls, plates, etc.

Yogam Pottery, run by Balu, is a truly welcoming and peaceful space. From the moment you step in, there’s a sense of calm that gently settles over you. The atmosphere encourages creativity while allowing you to slow down and be present. It’s the perfect place to unwind and connect with clay in a meaningful way. We had a wonderful time at the workshop.

I chose Yogam for my beginner’s course in pottery and I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking at beginning their pottery journey, be it a quick workshop, beginners course or really anything pottery related. Balu is an amazing teacher, really patient with all the questions constantly thrown at him :). In the beginners course, we got to learn hand-building techniques, wheel work and basic glazing techniques too. He is very accommodating with your needs, so just reach out to him with any doubts regarding booking etc.

This is a good place to start and off when diving into clay.
I personally liked Balu’s clam, patient approach to teaching clay. He shares just enough details to understand finer aspects of the material in theory, hand building techniques as well as practically throwing on wheel.

What a nice experience. We were looking for a way of healing ourselves and found this place that provided us a sense of calmness. This is such an awesome place set up by Balu.

His intern, Sitara, was so helpful in getting us our first pottery items in reasonably perfect shape, along with being very knowledgeable about the art.

Balakrishna (Balu) has been a great teacher for the beginners course that I opted for. He was very informative for all things ceramics and answered each and every during the course with finer details.

The beginners course introduces you to hand building techniques ( Pinch, Coil & Slab ) which will help you set up the basics of pottery, followed by throwing around 500 gms of clay on the wheel and creating a cylinder out of it.

In addition to the above clay handling techniques, we’re also made familiar with attaching clay pieces together using Score & Slip, sanding the clay pieces post Bisque/first firing, glazing.

And not to forget the plethora of tools which can evolve your art further. The studio is a cosy space with lots of beautiful collections to view and even buy some listed for sale.

There’s ample parking on the street, both sides since it’s a wide road. Also, it’s a busy road in heart of Yelahanka, so public commute/ola is not a worry. Mind that the studio is on 2nd floor and has access via stairs, enroute which you’ll be greeted by a lovely husky at 1st level. The funny thing is she starts to lick your hand as soon as you pat her or even spread out your hand from the gate.

If you are looking for a place to learn pottery, this is the place for you. Maya is patient, thoughtful, and an overall fantastic teacher. I visited from outside India as a foreigner (California, USA) and was able to pick things up within 3 lessons. Highly recommend, 5/5!

I had a great time at Maya’s Pottery workshop! Maya is an amazing instructor ~ patient, skilled, and so encouraging. She guided me through each step, making the whole process enjoyable and easy to follow. We first had the practice session and then we started on the actual piece that I wanted to make. The workshop had a relaxed, creative and cozy vibe, perfect for beginners or anyone looking to try something new in Bangalore. I made two pieces I’m really proud of. Highly recommend for a chill weekend activity! 🙂

Had an amazing experience doing a one-day pottery workshop with Mukta! She was exceptional—patient, knowledgeable, and made the session so enjoyable. They were able to accommodate my booking on the same day with just a few hours’ notice, which I really appreciated. The two-hour intro course was perfect for beginners, and the one-on-one instruction made a huge difference. Left with beautiful pots and a newfound love for pottery! The studio was clean, the staff was friendly, and overall, it was a 10/10 experience. Highly recommend!
