My association with ARRC started in May 2023 when I contacted them to rescue a stranded Bulbul hatchling. The response was swift and prompt and the chick was picked up in half an hour after contacting them. Come May 2025, we again found a Bulbul fledgling in the apartment in the night. I contacted ARRC again, and they again guided me on reuniting the fledgling with the parents the next day. In the morning, we found another fledgling of the same parents, albeit in a bit weaker condition and upon contacting them, Naveen from their team was at the site in half an hour and managed to reunite it as well with the parents. I monitored the birds for the next two days and both the fledglings were in great shape and were taken away by the parents. I came away impressed by ARRC’s professionalism, expertise and fast response to the reported cases.

ARRC team thank you so much for your work!
This morning I saw a bat stuck to a tree, hanging from a kite line, I didn’t know how to help her out.
After calling ARRC and giving the details of the situation, two members of the team came very quickly on site and rescued the bat.
You work with so much focus, care and efficiency.
I am so glad this organization exists, it is so needed in this urban environment.

Really quick and efficient team. From when I called on them for help with a trapped eagle (on a 30ft tree) to when they arrived, I received a couple of calls from their team and the bird was rescued within the next 30-45 mins.

I had an incredible experience with the bird rescue team, and I truly appreciate their dedication and prompt response. When I noticed an eagle sitting in my parking area, I reached out to them for help. They responded immediately, asking for the location and a photo of the bird. After sharing the details, I was amazed at how quickly they arrived—within just 30 minutes!
The rescuer handled the situation with great care, ensuring the eagle was safely taken in for treatment. What truly stood out was their selfless service; they did not ask for any payment, which speaks volumes about their commitment to wildlife conservation.
After the rescue, I followed up to understand what would happen next, and they promptly informed me that the eagle would be treated. If deemed fit for flying, it would be released in the same location where it was found. This level of transparency and care was truly commendable.
I am extremely grateful that we have such a dedicated team working tirelessly to protect and rescue birds in need. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would! Kudos to the entire team for their exceptional work. Keep up the great job!

I found an injured squirrel near a tea shop by my office and wasn’t sure what to do. At first, I thought of taking it to a pet hospital, but after searching on Google, I found the contact number for the Avian and Reptile Rehabilitation Centre. When I called, they kindly advised me not to take the squirrel to a regular hospital, as most vets aren’t equipped to treat wild animals properly.
They asked me to share the location and a photo of the squirrel, and to my surprise, they arrived in just 30 minutes! I was really impressed by how quick and responsive they were. I didn’t know what to do at first, but their support gave me peace of mind, and I truly believe the squirrel is in safe hands now.
Thank you so much to the team for your dedication and quick help. Please continue the amazing work you do for animals — you have my full support.

One of the best experiences in Bangalore for animal lovers! Make sure you book in advance online. You will get a time slot (not very strict to visit at the given time but it’s better you go early.)
They explain about the animals in batches, you will get to hold a lot of small animals and reptiles.
The staff is very caring, patient and helpful. You’ll need about 2 hours to see around. There is a canteen with basic snacks, juice, etc.

You can either buy the tickets online or you can directly buy it from the counter.
I would definitely recommend you to visit this place.

Visited this beautiful place today – really a great spot for a weekend outing! Since it was a weekend, the animals were a bit far, so we couldn’t get close or touch them, but it still felt very safe and enjoyable.
The food was good, the place was clean, and the staff were super friendly. The volunteers were also kind and helpful. It’s a perfect place for kids and families to relax, learn about animals, and enjoy nature.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful and refreshing day out!

A Truly Heartwarming Experience!
We visited Prani with our family and absolutely loved every moment. Unlike a typical zoo, this sanctuary offers a hands-on, educational experience that helps you truly connect with the animals. From parrots sitting on your shoulder to feeding rabbits and learning about rescued emus, the entire visit was both fun and meaningful.
The staff are passionate and knowledgeable—they take time to explain each animal’s story, making the guided tour very engaging, especially for kids. The sanctuary is well-maintained, and the animals are clearly well cared for.
The entry fee is a bit on the higher side compared to public zoos, but the experience is unique and well worth it. You’re not just seeing animals—you’re interacting with them and understanding their lives, which makes it so special.
Highly recommended for families, school trips, or anyone who loves animals. Just make sure to go early, wear comfy shoes, and carry water. We left with full hearts and some amazing memories!

Visited today. The ticket for the experience they provide is extremely worth it, plus the animals are rescues! Everyone gets a fun experience where they will learn about the animal and let you touch the animals. One thing I’ve always been curious about was the texture of a snake and lizard skin! It will definitely be a cool experience to hold them or feel them. Consider going with your own vehicle or taxi because it’s quite far away from the bus stop. And please respect their rules

I visited this Goshaala today
– Very neatly maintained
– More than 300 cows and buffaloes are there I think
– And many cute cute calves are there
– More than 200 oxes also there and also hens, goats and other animals
– This is also kind of cow business but I felt like they are taking care of the animals very well
– They’ll get enough milk also which they’ll sell and manage the Goshala
– They’ll give u a bason of food to feed for free as soon as you enter
– You can carry veggies and other edible stuff for cows to feed from outside as well
– You can order the grass prior to visiting so grass load will be delivered to the Goshaala
I felt like this is a very well managed place for animals
They have prepared it like they run the place without donations too.
Kind people are donating as well which will make it motivated for them also to take care of the animals easily

Went to volunteer here. There are more than 140 animals here, including dogs, cats, birds, goats, turtles. The fully vaccinated dogs roam around freely in the facility and are so joyful. I will always remember a dog named “minimum” I’m sure she will too. We both spent a lot of time together. We even brushed, bathed and groomed another dog “Chimpi”, he just loved the Spa session. The dogs are well fed and the entire shelter runs of donated funds. So feel free to check their website and you can passively adopt a dog for a month and help them.

Hi my visit was not good. As yesterday I had taken a street kitten to the place but the person who came to talk to me did not even show the concern to take a look at the kitten. He started tell there is not space, but I request him to atleast give it first-aid so that I will take it back. But he refused and directed me to some other private pet clinic. This is very disheartening to see a NGO staff have not concern to save a animal life, with out even see the aminal or to consulting with the doctor, he him self takes a decision and tell us to take it to some other pet clinic. This happened on a public holiday where it is difficult to find a function pet clinic on this days.

Syeraa Animal Rescue Centre seems to be an organization with a mixed reputation. Based on observations, their dedication to the wellbeing of animals appears genuine, with staff demonstrating a clear understanding of individual animal needs. They likely offer valuable adoption programs and strive to find loving homes for surrendered pets. This suggests a strong commitment to animal welfare.
However, concerns regarding transparency and access are evident. A lack of openness regarding shelter conditions could raise questions about the operational procedures. It is essential for any animal rescue organization to prioritize communication and allow potential supporters and donors to witness the care being provided. Ultimately, fostering trust relies on demonstrating accountability and openness.
Customer Reviews
Syera Animal Rescue Centre claims to keep animals in good condition, but they don’t have a policy that allows people to have a glimpse of how the animals are inside the shelter. They have answers to all the questions that you raise. They will tell you that you might carry an infection if you come to visit the surrendered pet. This is simply unbelievable. If you ask the staff to send you a pic, a small video update, they will tell you that they don’t operate like that. If animals are kept in a good condition, then why don’t they share a single update?
If you try to follow up with them and get inquisitive because of the answers they give, they will stop responding to your calls.
Please don’t leave your pets there. Surrendering them there would be the last time you would see them.
Had it been a fair place, they wouldn’t have been acting so fishy.

We chose Syeraa Animal Rescue Center with high hopes based on its ratings, but sadly, our experience turned out to be heartbreaking. We had to temporarily leave our dog here while relocating to Hyderabad, and within just 4–5 days, we realized we had made a grave mistake.
Every time we called to check on him, we were told he wasn’t eating and was sitting in a corner, completely withdrawn. This wasn’t the dog we knew. We were guilt-ridden and decided to bring him back. What we saw when we got him home was extremely distressing — he was infested with ticks, visibly weak, and our home was overrun with ticks as well.
A visit to the vet revealed his platelet count was at the borderline of danger. Had we delayed even a few more days, we could’ve lost him.
No animal should go through such neglect, especially in a place that’s supposed to be a safe haven. Cleanliness, monitoring, and basic medical care were clearly lacking.
We truly hope this feedback is taken seriously — animals left in your care deserve attention, hygiene, regular health checks, and affection. People trust you with their companions; please don’t take that lightly. For the sake of the animals and the people who support your work, improve the standards of care and cleanliness urgently.

Shut this place down. Old people ill want to surrender their dogs and are willing to pay a donation, but this center says they will not allow visits, or do not entertain to be asked for photographs its a complete disconnect. Imagine what they must be doing with the dogs. Guys be aware please.
To add further he gave me a call back to question this review. So guys really be careful about this place. We want to help people and animals and feed unethical people like this.
your cheap response below says it call. 8k per dog asking for a reduction is not wrong as it was sickly elder lady and you speak like this. People more reason, I feel sad for those who trusted them

Very shady place, first they charge money to accept any dogs and then promise the best of treatment. Later they refuse to give any details not even share a picture of the animals they take. Further you are allowed to visit their shelter. Even if you go to adopt they bring out few dogs to look out. God knows what is going inside this place. Are they putting the animals to sleep once they take the money. What else could be the reason for not sharing any pic or photo of the poor dogs taken by them. I checked with 7-8 other shelters to see if this is the process with them also but none of them have this weird policy like syerra. Something really fishy going on there. If you want to get the animals killed then give to them.

I got my puppy from Sam on Nov 11 as his age was 44 days and i was very excited about my new kid JoyBoy. He was very healthy and active, once he was little grown everyone started mentioning this is a pure show breed and surprised to hear I got him for 28k, my friend got the same show breed white golden retriever for 35k in Hyderabad. Even whenever I have doubts or i need daycare for my puppy Sam has helped me with it. He has good quality puppies and you can trust him for your new family member.

I firstly called sam after getting a few reference from a few pet owners in our area but I had done my research and had called a few other Kennels as well but right from the first call I knew these are the guys that know what they are doing and have a very good knowledge about Dogs , He also guided me on what breed to take and then we choose a husky as that was my first choice as well , I had seen a few huskies earlier and I knew all look different and after calling sam I understood that its due to the quality off the breed which was very true and he has one of the best quality breeds I have ever seen . Now we got our second puppy as we were looking for a companion for our first and again sam suggested to go for a maltese which is indeed an excellent companion for our sultan and not to mention the quality is outstanding . Whoever sees our babies asks us where did I get them from and I have been referring them to many and so I made a point to write this review , so I would say anyone planning to take a Puppy – furry tails Kennel is our best place .
Thank you sam for giving this happiness , God Bless you

The place is really nice and well maintained, all the dogs, cats, birds etc are clean and well maintained, all of them are well behaved. The person showing us around was also calm, listened to what we said and answered every question which was given to her. In the end it was very nice to see my first animal shelter, which was also the first ever animal shelter in India.

One of the worst dog shelter Never ever leave any animals there.. you won’t see the animals if you go there within a week also. They will collect the money from us. And will say you will not get to see the animal again. It’s totally fishy. It’s better to leave the animals on roads then to leave them in karuna, it’s like a punishment for animals, as I think they will kill the animals..Please please don’t trust them. It’s not a good place

Formerly SPCA. The infrastructure has scaled up tremendously from what I had seen few years ago.
Painful to see how heartless owners of pets leave them in these adoption centers and it is alarming to see so many of them. Such sadness in their eyes. My request is dont take up such responsibilities if you can’t fulfill be whatever the reason can be. They are not just animals they were part of a family atleast that is what would feel.
Hope they get adopted and find a place from these cages.
Karuna as such has done well for themselves. Great and approachable staff, few volunteers and since it is in the same campus as Veterinary campus, so they will have first hand information for animal care and treatment.
Overall a mixed emotion at this place. I wish people could shift their outing and weekend getaways, atleast few hours to these places. If not anything we can give them a feeling that there are some souls around who are here to care unbiased.

I am truly, deeply indebted to Sarvoham Animal Foundation for taking in Sunny – a senior dog who was ran over by a reckless car driver. She had a fracture and a possible spinal injury. After a diagnosis from Bangalore Pet Hospital that Sunny would never be able to walk again, I was heartbroken and devastated. I did not have any idea to rehabilitate her where so that she wouldn’t have to face the dangers or fend for herself. I remember making so many calls and hearing NO. But then when i had almost given up I called Sarvoham and to my surprise, they agreed to take her in. Not just that they also said they would continue her treatment. And I was so happy that Sunny would finally have a home. I took Sunny to their shelter the very next day and OMG i cannot imagine how much she has recovered since then. Other than that there were so many dogs!!! Some were abandoned, some were injured like Sunny, some had been dumped there for years. It honestly broke my heart that humans could stoop down to this level. But then there are people like Haris sir, Dr.Asif and the other staff members who work day and night for those dogs. I am truly grateful for them to welcome Sunny with open arms and ever since Sunny has been doing well so much !!!! Thank you Sarvoham! I’m truly blessed to have found you.

Thank you very much for accepting the street dog which met with accident.
We met a dog which was new in our street and it was not able to walk properly and skinny too.
My wife gave him food and by seeing his position we took him to doc for checkup. Doc gave him three shots daily for three days.
Next day we were about to leave for Bangalore. We tried contacting many animal foundations to ask help. None came forward, they show off only Instagram likes.
Finally, we got a reference to try with Sarvoham.
Contacted and sent the pics of dog. Within no time they accepted him and that was the happiest moment for us.
We drove with him for about 360km as govt bus weren’t accepting the pets. It’s our first drive with pet and we were excited that he is gonna get proper care from Sarvoham.
We filled his form and got chance to explore Sarvoham personally. It is so amazing and the staff is really great. They have lots of patience to treat and care and maintain them like their own pets.

Krupa Loving Animal appears to offer a valuable service for animals in need, providing a safe haven and potentially medical care. Their dedication to rescuing and rehabilitating vulnerable creatures is commendable and fills a vital role within the community, especially for those who might otherwise lack support. The organization’s efforts to find permanent homes for these animals demonstrate a commitment to their long-term well-being.
While operational challenges might arise in a facility handling numerous animals with varied needs, clear communication channels and a focus on transparency with those seeking to assist or inquire about animals are essential. A strong emphasis on consistent protocols and documented care plans could help ensure all animals receive appropriate and timely support.

If you love an animal and want it to survive, DO NOT send it here. This so-called “animal care” centre is a disgrace to the word “care.”
Two weeks ago, I rescued a stray cat I had been feeding for 7 months but one day it was electrocuted due to a electric shock. I rushed it to a private veterinary hospital, where it received proper care: burns were dressed with protective bandages, a 15-day antibiotic injection was given, and pain relief tablets were prescribed. The vet clearly instructed that the dressing be changed every 3–4 days to avoid infection. (I have also attached the pic after i got treatment from a private hospital)
I took the cat, along with the medicines and treatment details, to Krupa Care, trusting they would continue the care. But from the moment I arrived, they ignored everything I said and when i showed them the prescription, tossed aside the medicines, and refused to listen to the vet’s instructions.
When I called for updates, Poornima (the person in charge) repeatedly made excuses instead of giving real information — always saying the cat was “not cooperating” or that “the bandage couldn’t be removed.” She constantly criticised the private vet’s work, claiming there were “too many bandages,” when in reality that’s exactly how an electrocution wound needs to be protected to prevent infection.
After a week, she finally told me the cat had died and instead of explaining what happened, she told me to “go ask the private hospital” why they bandaged it like that. This, despite the fact that they had already removed the bandage at Krupa and never even did a new dressing or gave any proper treatment. When I asked her what treatment was done, she arrogantly replied, “There are some medical procedures, why do we have to tell you?” And when I pointed out how rude she was being to someone who entrusted them with a living animal, she hung up on me.
From reading other reviews on Google, I can’t help but think they probably admit stray animals, cats, and dogs, collect funds from the government or other private NGOs, and then just let these animals suffer without proper care. I don’t know why they are even running this so-called “centre” except maybe to take in animals for the sake of funding rather than actually saving lives.
This was my cat’s fate in their hands: ignored vet instructions, no transparency, no accountability, no compassion, and nothing but rudeness. I truly believe that if I had kept the cat with me, it would have had a fighting chance to live.
To anyone reading this: Do not send any animal here — not a pet, not a stray, not anything that breathes. If you care about their life, don’t let them end up in this careless, cold, and heartless place.

I’m very disappointed with my recent experience calling Krupa Animal Center. The lady who received my call didn’t even bother to listen properly to what I was saying, nor was she friendly.
I was calling to help a friend whose stray dog needs urgent adoption support — the dog is old, has severe hair loss, and suffers from continuous saliva discharge. I truly wanted to help, but instead of showing empathy or at least discussing the situation politely, the person on the call dismissed it without any concern.
People working in rescue and animal welfare should have compassion and humanity, especially when dealing with those trying to help distressed animals. Such negligence is disheartening, and I hope this feedback encourages better training and sensitivity towards callers and the animals in need.

I sent my injured dog to this NGO, hoping it would get proper care. My dog could still walk when I handed it over. Later, I got the shocking news that it had died — but they never informed me directly.
When I called, they claimed they had the wrong contact number. I asked where my dog was, and they casually said they had already done the funeral. I requested a medical report to know what happened, but they refused to give it.
This was an extremely painful experience, and I deeply regret trusting them. Please be cautious and enquire properly before sending any animal here. I don’t want others to go through the same loss.

I want to share my experience so that others can be careful before trusting this shelter with the life of any helpless animal.
A few days ago, a small stray kitten — around 2 months old — came into my house. She looked sick and weak, so I took her to a local vet who said her bladder was full and she couldn’t urinate. The vet manually helped her release urine and gave her an injection. She ate some food and rested afterward.
I cared for her, kept her warm, and even bought medicines. I stayed up at night observing her, giving her warmth and food — she seemed to be slowly improving.
Wanting the best for her, I reached out to Krupa Loving Animals Shelter in Bangalore, hoping they would continue her care professionally. But after handing her over, I was given no proper updates. I tried calling, but my calls were ignored. Finally, they told me she had died and showed me her dead body.
I felt something wasn’t right. The kitten was weak but responsive when I handed her over — and I had seen online reviews from other people saying similar things: that the shelter often says animals have “died” after refusing calls and offering no proper care. This pattern is deeply disturbing.
You are expected to trust such places with vulnerable lives — and when that trust is broken, it hurts deeply.
I want to say this clearly:
“I trusted your shelter with a helpless, sick kitten who was slowly recovering. What happened has left me heartbroken and full of doubt, especially after reading similar complaints from others. You may ignore my calls, but you cannot ignore the truth. If any carelessness or neglect caused her death, I pray that one day you suffer from a serious illness — just like that innocent kitten suffered — and feel the same pain she went through. May God make you understand what it means to be helpless and ignored.”
I hope no other kind-hearted animal lover goes through what I went through. Please be careful before surrendering any animal to this shelter. It may cost more than you know.

Never send any dog here. When they take the dog in they’re all very sweet and caring about the animal. Ask about the dog’s well being in a few days and they are so rude and arrogant. Wish I’d never sent the poor dog here. Sent here for a broken leg and it was dead in a few days. The lady was so rude when I called to ask how the dog is.

Thank you Poornima ma’m for your support with helping a blind stray dog find a shelter that cares for a lost soul. We found this dog runover by an inhuman auto driver and while we did provide the initial trauma care we were looking for a permanent home. I must say that Krupa shelter was most responsive amongst the shelters that we tried to connect and more than willing to accomodate our request. Our heartfelt thanks to all the caretakers and individuals running this shelter home.

Catalog of services offered by pet adoption centers in Bangalore
Pet Surrender Assistance
Pet adoption centers often provide pet surrender assistance for owners who can no longer care for their animals. This may include guidance on the necessary paperwork, a brief interview to gather information about the pet’s history, and support during a difficult time.
Animal Intake and Assessment
A crucial function of adoption centers is animal intake and assessment. Upon arrival, animals undergo a thorough assessment of their health, temperament, and any special needs to determine the best placement and care plan.
Veterinary Care and Medical Treatment
Adoption centers are responsible for providing veterinary care and medical treatment to the animals in their care. This includes vaccinations, deworming, spaying/neutering, and addressing any existing medical conditions to ensure the animals are healthy and ready for adoption.
Behavioral Evaluation and Training
Many centers offer behavioral evaluation and training for animals with behavioral issues. This helps address problems such as anxiety, aggression, or excessive barking, making them more adoptable and ensuring a successful placement.
Foster Care Programs
To provide temporary housing and socialization, adoption centers operate foster care programs. Foster homes provide a nurturing environment for animals who are too young, sick, or have behavioral challenges to be housed in the shelter setting.
Adoption Counseling and Matching
To ensure a good fit, adoption centers provide adoption counseling and matching. Counselors assess potential adopters’ lifestyles and preferences to match them with an animal that is compatible with their needs and capabilities.
Pet Identification and Microchipping
As a preventative measure, adoption centers often offer pet identification and microchipping. Microchips provide a permanent form of identification in case a pet gets lost, significantly increasing the chances of reunification with its owner.
Community Outreach and Education
Adoption centers often engage in community outreach and education initiatives. These programs aim to promote responsible pet ownership, educate the public about the benefits of adoption, and reduce the number of animals entering shelters.
Spay/Neuter Programs
Many shelters run spay/neuter programs aimed at controlling the pet population. These programs often provide subsidized or free spay/neuter services to low-income families and stray animals to prevent unwanted litters.
Frequently Asked Questions about Pet Adoption Centers in Bangalore
What types of animals can I typically find at pet adoption centers?
Pet adoption centers in Bangalore generally house a variety of animals, although the selection can vary. You’re most likely to find dogs and cats of different breeds, ages, and sizes. Some centers may also accommodate smaller animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, or even birds. It’s always a good idea to contact the center directly to inquire about the current animal population.
How does the adoption process work at most centers?
The adoption process usually begins with an application form, which the center uses to assess the potential adopter's suitability. This may be followed by an interview, either in-person or virtual, and potentially a home visit. The center aims to ensure that the animal is going to a responsible and loving home. Fees are often involved to cover vaccinations and sterilization.
What costs are involved in adopting a pet?
Beyond the adoption fee, there are other associated costs. These can include vaccinations that haven’t been completed, sterilization/spaying (if not already done), microchipping, and potentially initial supplies like a collar, leash, food bowls, or a carrier. It’s essential to budget for these ongoing expenses as well, such as food, vet care, and toys.
What is the role of adoption fees?
Adoption fees aren't just a way for centers to make money; they are crucial for funding operations. The fees help cover the costs of animal care, including food, shelter, medical attention, and enrichment activities. They also contribute to the center’s ability to rescue and rehabilitate more animals.
What kind of pre-adoption counseling or support do centers typically offer?
Many adoption centers provide pre-adoption counseling to help potential adopters prepare for the responsibilities of pet ownership. This may include advice on pet-proofing your home, understanding animal behavior, and dealing with potential challenges like separation anxiety or house training. Some centers also offer post-adoption support for ongoing guidance.
What happens if I am not able to care for the adopted pet anymore?
Reputable adoption centers have a policy regarding what happens if you can no longer care for the pet. They generally request that you return the animal to the center rather than abandoning it. This allows them to find a suitable new home and prevents the animal from becoming a stray. There may be a re-homing fee involved.
How can I ensure that a pet is a good fit for my family and lifestyle?
Choosing a pet is a significant commitment. Consider your lifestyle, family dynamics, and available time. Observe the animal's temperament and energy levels before adopting. Discuss the responsibilities with all family members and be realistic about your ability to provide adequate care and attention. Some centers offer trial periods.
Are there any special requirements for adopting a pet in Bangalore?
While specific regulations can change, it's common to be asked for proof of address and potentially identification. Some centers may have restrictions based on the type of accommodation (e.g., apartment complexes with pet restrictions). Familiarize yourself with any local ordinances related to pet ownership.
What is the difference between an adoption center and a rescue organization?
While the terms are often used interchangeably, there can be a distinction. Adoption centers are often municipal or non-profit facilities with a focus on finding homes for animals in their care. Rescue organizations are typically volunteer-run groups that specialize in rescuing animals from various situations, often rehabilitating them before adoption. Both play crucial roles.
How can I support a pet adoption center if I’m not ready to adopt?
There are numerous ways to support a pet adoption center, even if you can't adopt. You can volunteer your time to help with animal care or administrative tasks. Donations of food, blankets, or money are always welcome. You can also spread awareness about the center’s work through social media or by attending fundraising events. Consider fostering as well.
