Chitrakala Parishat is a renowned school of art in Bangalore, with an enviable alumni list. Located in a tree-lined campus, CKP — as it is popularly known — has a museum, a store and a gallery worth visiting. The gallery has rotating exhibits while the museum has permanent displays of paintings and crafts. CKP comes alive during its much-awaited fests: the annual Handicraft Mela and the Chitra Santhe (art market), both of which provide outlets for artists and craftsmen.
Visit this place when there is an art retrospective of KG Subramanian going on. There are so many options to shop and indulge in. You can easily spend a ton of time and money at this place. Definitely recommend it if you are interested in buying local Indian handicrafts or clothes at reasonable prices.

A must-visit place if you’re keen on art and paintings. I visited this place back in February where there was a major arts exhibition during the month. Be it the main gallery or basement floor gallery, the craftsmanship is seen in all the paintings. They do have paintings for sale which might cost you a lot for the bigger canvas and vice versa. The other main attraction is the handicrafts and colorful textiles of various states of India sold in the exhibition stalls (flea market).

When it comes to art collection, this is the must visit place in Bangalore. Artworks from all over the world have made their home in the heart of the city. Besides artworks and paintings, one can get good stuff for home decor, textiles, hand embroidered kurtis, cushion covers and bed spreads, handmade articles, brass / wooden items, jewelry, antique pieces from various parts of the country. There are various exhibition stalls available for various articles. A minimum of half day can be spent in just going through the display. Renovation work is also going on parallelly. Wow. Such a great museum. The amount of knowledge I gained from here was priceless. I never thought of a music museum. The representation of time and evaluation of music was beautifully presented. There are presentations about music from every corner of our country. I’d say if you want to explore, make sure you have 3+ hours in your hand.
There was also a show going on which we enjoyed as well, I guess we got a bonus on that. There is a public piano where many were playing. There is a recording studio as well, which recorded our song and asked for our email ID in the end saying the recording will be sent there, but we never got that mail.
The price of the ticket is more on weekends, so plan accordingly.

I recently visited The Indian Music Experience Museum in Bangalore, and it was a fantastic experience! It is an interactive music museum, it offers a great blend of education and fun.
Few highlights for me were ->
Sound Garden, where you can interact with musical sculptures and learn about the basics of sound.
There is recording studio as well where you can record and listen to the recording get a experience of what artists get.
They also have some other Interactive things like the mix tape creator etc.
The museum also features over 100 musical instruments and hands-on exhibits that let you explore music-making processes. If you’re a music lover or just curious about Indian culture, this place is a must-visit!

If you are a die heart music lover then this place is for you, this place has all history of the Indian Music, the origin of music, significance of music in life, as well as the importance of music for health. Jazz, Pop, Classical, Bollywood and many more… all type of music has been covered in this place.
Basically they have created a section and in that section you can listen the music, you can create your own too..
My fav spot is Indian Classical Gharana, and The Instrumental place where all the recorded music is stored.
I would definitely recommend this place for visit. It will take a whole day if you have to listen and see thoroughly.
This place has ₹250 entry fee. There is shopping centre at the end. You may shop the idols, statues, some cloths and stationery items.

The only negative about this place would be that it’s really great when it’s not crowded. I went when it wasn’t and was able to try out all the experiential stuff at my own pace, but if there are too many people it can difficult to try out everything properly.

One of the best museums I’ve visited in India. Weirdly I had to pay for all the floors separately and I was recommended 2 hours for the entire place. But with my pace where I wanted to read everything, it took about 3-4 hours and I didn’t even have the capacity for one of the floors. But I loved what I saw and read and experienced.

As an architect, the whole experience was good. It’s a must visit place for art fanatics. You are treated every affably and can get a mindful insight of the whole building. No art show or play is fixed around the year, it changes from month to month. The building and it’s surrounding is maintained very neat and clean. It’s a architectural marvel. The interiors are Human centric and the whole building is aur conditioned. You need to buy tickets for particular events, sometimes there are free.
Overall, the overall ambience is really good and soothing.

It will take you 2-3 hrs to complete all the floors..They have washrooms + all the signage everywhere (from the lifts to the exhibits) had braille!..If you’re an art enthusiast or just looking for a cultural outing, MAP is definitely worth a visit.

フロアごとに異なる展覧会が行われ、一階の受付で見たい展覧会を選んで料金を払うシステムになっています。私がいった際には、「VISIBLE/INVISIBLE」様々なアートに表現された女性に関する展示や「Ticket Tika Chaap」イギリスの植民地時代にインドからの輸出品に貼られた商標マークの展示などが行われていました。展示一箇所につき100ルピーほどだったと思います。
建物もモダンで内装もきれい、展示も洗練されていますので、訪れて損はないかと思います。地下一階にはカフェとロッカー、トイレもあります。

They are not like other stores who intend to sell you the expensive things, they suggest you things which are only necessary. Visited on a weekend entry fee was 20 rs only.
The place is peaceful with lush greenary. There is a variety of paintings and artwork. The paintings reflect various situations and themes that are on based, society, culture, history etc.

Such a calm and serene place. One can spend ample of time here peacefully in weekend. They have artifacts getting changed once in every 3months. Security is tight and restrictions are high. Tucked away in the peaceful Manikyavelu Mansion on Palace Road, this place is a quiet retreat from the city’s chaos—a perfect blend of heritage, modern architecture, and thought-provoking Indian art.
What I Loved:

Spread over 3.5 acres, the property is lush, green, and serene. The colonial-era mansion with its wide verandas, high ceilings, and wooden staircases has been perfectly maintained. The modern wing with glass and steel offers a striking contrast—yet they merge so well.
✅ Rich Art Collection:
The gallery houses artworks by legendary Indian artists like Raja Ravi Varma, Amrita Sher-Gil, Rabindranath Tagore, and M.F. Husain. There are sculptures, miniatures, oil paintings, photographs, and even contemporary installations. The curation flows well—from colonial to modern and contemporary Indian art.

Great tour if you want to understand about the Gi-Tagged products in India. The store spans across 3 floors and it easily takes around 2 hours to explore. Every product from each region has been explained very well. And volunteers in each floor take extra interest to walk you through every exhibit there. You can buy at the store as well. Had a great time here. I felt like I took a mini India tour here.

Must visit place for all kinds of home decors which are shipped from all over the country. These items are made out of various raw materials like jute, stone, fibre and wood.
All these items are very unique with a reasonable rate and not to forget the polite staff in the store.
Apart from gifts items and home decors they also have spices from various parts of the country. Hand made Clothing, jewellery are also found here.
This shop has 3 floors of items to shop from with reasonable rates.
