Government Museum, Bangalore, established in 1865 by the Mysore State with the guidance of Surgeon Edward Balfour who founded the museum in Madras and supported by the Chief Commissioner of Mysore, L.B. Bowring, is one of the oldest museums in India and the second oldest museum in South India. It is now an archaeological museum and has a rare collection of archaeological and geological artifacts including old jewellery, sculpture, coins and inscriptions. The museum is also home to the Halmidi inscription, the earliest Kannada inscription (450 AD).

An historic landmark of Bangalore, the heritage of Karnataka. It's one of the oldest museum. The museum have a good collection of artifacts, archeological finds, sculptures, paintings, ancient guns and swords and stone carvings. There's an entry fees of approx 20rs per person for the entry. And parking facilities are available. Also there's small snacks shops available near the gate for refreshing.

This place is an amazing spot to visit. The entry fee is Rs20 per head. The surroundings are well-maintained and intact. It has the best collections to view. They have the paintings and sculptures of many eras. ♥️ The stone carvings date back to the 11th & 10th century too. The collections are worth checking. Back then people were very creative... To be honest it's better than today's time too. The carvings of Ganga, Kuber & lord Ganesha in a dancing position... It's amazing The painting collections are pretty good too. They have the pottery collection in the ground floor. They even have the armouries of great kings on display. Especially the musical instruments back then were very beautifully carved and they definitely weigh a lot. Do come and check this place with your friends and families.

It's a great place, there are two museums next to each other, the science and historic museum. This is the historic one. The entry fee is ₹20 for adults and ₹10 for kids as on Feb 2021 and there is ample parking space. It was a nice time to see so many ancient things, the sulptures and paintings etc. It's a must visit place if you enjoy historical museums.
