I’m a regular at Nagarjuna, but this was my first time at this outlet—and it was a terrible experience. I ordered a meal after checking the menu, which clearly mentioned a vegetable dish. Instead, they served Vada curry and claimed that’s the veg for Monday. When I asked how Vada curry qualifies as a vegetable, the supervisor Mr. Ramesh responded very rudely, saying “On Mondays, vada curry is the vegetable. Everyone else is eating it without complaint—what’s your problem?” I’ve had Andhra meals at many places, and I’ve always gotten proper veg dish. Charging a hefty ₹325 for just white rice and daal feels like a outright cheat/scam. Hope the management takes this feedback seriously, ensures that customers are served what is promised on the menu, and trains the staff on how to handle customer queries and concerns respectfully.

Expensive, too much oil in Sabji (only one subji was given ) more sabji can be added to justify the price. No chapati/puri served.

Service is super quick — no long waits, just fast and fiery plates. ⚖️ The ambiance is basic, but when the food’s this good, you don’t mind! Prices are slightly on the higher side — would’ve loved it more if it was a bit more economical. But for that true South Indian food fix, Nagarjuna stays iconic.

Customer Reviews
Ever since I moved to Namma Bengaluru to live my life, the name Meghana has always been associated with the biryani. It’s like they are synonyms. Despite of being pure vegetarians, I and my friend often visit Meghana’s to enjoy their vegetarian biriyanis ( some of the people argue that there’s nothing called vegetarian biryani, it’s just pulav, I don’t care, they have got it on their menu). Visited this Koramangala branch of this franchise for our Thursday lunch. I always prefer air conditioned rooms to dine in especially in summers, we were directed to 2nd floor. Since it was a weekday’s , the restaurant wasn’t that crowded, infact we were the first one to arrive in AC seating area. We were proved with menus, but we had already decided what to eat, so we chose 2 biryanis from available 4 options. Paneer biryani & Aloo dum biryani We also ordered a sprite and a butter milk. We got the order within few minutes. First we were served with paneer biryani, no doubt this biryani being the star dish of the Meghana’s (vegetarian section), The flavourful rice’s served with panee cubes which are quoted with delicious masala. Loved it. Next we were served with aloo dum biryani, the same flavourful rice’s served with big half cut boiled aloos & spicy masala. I prefer paneer biryani over aloo dum biryani for sure. While my friends are, I checked the other floors and washroom. The restaurant is really well maintained, good number of seating arrangements for the customer. The washroom was clean n hygienic too. One of the best places for a budget friendly and tasty team dinners/ team lunches.

We tried the chicken biryani and it lived up to the hype. The rice was flavorful, the chicken was well-cooked and tender, and the spice level was just right. Portions were generous for its price. The place can get busy, but the service was quick.

Meghana Foods – Koramangala A Must-Visit for Biryani Lovers! Parking space is limited and can be challenging to find. – Delicious Andhra-style biryanis – Tender and flavorful food – Excellent service: attentive, polite, and welcoming – Vibrant and family-friendly ambiance – Quick service and efficient seating arrangement Recommended Dishes: – Veg Special Biryani – Aloo Dum Biryani – Paneer Biryani Price is Affordable (₹370 for Meghana Special Biryani, serves 2) A true gem for biryani enthusiasts! Consistently delivers on quality and flavor.

Meghana Foods in Koramangala is well-known for its unique biryani presentation, where the flavorful masala (chicken or paneer) is layered on top of the rice. While their chicken biryani is undeniably delicious, the price point makes it a less accessible option for regular biryani cravings. The portion size is certainly adequate. Be prepared for crowds, especially on weekends and holidays during peak hours, as you’ll likely encounter a wait. On a separate occasion, I tried the Chicken 65, which was decent but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, Meghana Foods offers a tasty biryani experience, but the pricing and potential wait times are factors to consider.

Here’s where we had dinner. There wasn’t many people here because it was a weekday. Good atmosphere. Good service as well. The meal was great. Biriyani has an okay level of taste. Quite expensive in terms of cost. Car parking road side only.

I have been a regular at Nagarjuna Andhra Style Restaurant in Bengaluru for years, and it is hands down our go-to spot for authentic Andhra delicacies. This place never fails to impress with its vibrant flavors and warm hospitality, making every visit a delight. The star of the show is their famous unlimited Andhra banana leaf meal. It is an absolute feast, served with such generosity that you will need to pace yourself! The spread includes a variety of spicy, tangy curries, perfectly cooked rice, crispy papads, and an array of chutneys that burst with flavor. The mutton curry and spicy Andhra dal are personal favorites, and the meal always ends with a comforting bowl of sambar and rasam that ties it all together. The fact that they keep refilling your plate with such enthusiasm makes it feel like a home-cooked meal, just with an extra kick of spice. Their chicken biryani is another gem. It is fragrant, flavorful, and packed with tender, well-spiced chicken that melts in your mouth. The rice is perfectly cooked, with each grain soaked in aromatic spices, and it comes with a side of raita that balances the heat beautifully. I could eat this biryani every week and never get tired of it. The chicken kebabs are a must-try starter. They are juicy, smoky, and grilled to perfection, with just the right amount of spice to whet your appetite. Pair them with the mint chutney, and you are in for a treat. These kebabs are always a hit when we are dining with friends or family. The service at Nagarjuna is quick and efficient, even during peak hours when the place is buzzing with people. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring your meal is served hot and fresh. The seating is comfortable, with ample space for groups, which makes it great for family outings or casual get-togethers. One small quirk is the valet parking, which is mostly on the road, but it has never been a hassle for us. The affordable rates are another big plus—Nagarjuna offers incredible value for the quality and quantity of food you get. It is rare to find a place that combines such authentic taste, quick service, and reasonable prices so seamlessly. If you are craving bold, spicy Andhra cuisine in Bengaluru, Nagarjuna is the place to go. Their unlimited banana leaf meal, chicken biryani, and chicken kebabs are pure perfection, and it is no wonder we keep coming back for more!

Based on positive reviews, we visited this establishment. However, the quality of the food was disappointing for the price. The vegetarian meals we ordered, priced at 380, were significantly overpriced. The chicken and mutton biriyani were mediocre in taste and also quite expensive. Overall, our experience was mediocre.

Very nice food and prompt service, great staff and very polite. Wouldn’t go for “ambience” as such because that’s not the priority in this place. You go to eat good food, pay and leave. Nothing fancy, no-nonsense kinda place. Clean, noisy with a lot of customers, and has that 2014 decor. They’re not trying to be fancy and it works very well for them.

Nandhana Palace appears to be a consistently disappointing experience for many patrons. Reports suggest a recurring pattern of serving subpar food, often at prices that do not reflect the quality received. The focus seems to be on quantity over quality, with frequent mentions of stale ingredients and uninspired dishes. Many diners express concern over the food’s freshness and overall value.

A primary concern is the hygiene standards. Several accounts describe encountering undesirable elements within meals, creating a serious issue related to food safety and patron well-being. This is a massive setback for establishments that pride themselves on providing authentic Andhra cuisine and reflects poorly on their commitment to maintaining a safe and enjoyable dining atmosphere. It’s a concerning indictment of the food preparation practices.

Disappointed for the price we paid. Visited Nandhana Palace recently and felt it was way too expensive for what was offered. We ordered: • Veg meals • Prawns chilly • Cucumber cooler • Raw mango mojito The cucumber cooler wasn’t even cold and tasted off. The food was strictly average, the veg meals were just regular rice and one type of palya, nothing special or authentic about it. Definitely didn’t feel like good value for money.

I ordered from this place recently through Swiggy, and it was one of the worst food experiences I’ve had. The so-called biryani was ₹360 and chicken lollipop ₹370 — complete waste of money. The biryani had just two tiny pieces of chicken (if you can even call it that) — mostly bones, barely any meat, and clearly scraped together just to fill the box. Zero flavor, zero value. The chicken lollipop? Pathetic. No salt, no coating, and it reeked — smelled like it was a day old or worse. No freshness, no taste, nothing remotely close to edible. Honestly felt like I was being served leftover scraps from the previous day. Looking at other reviews now, it seems this isn’t a one-off. They’re consistently sending out stale, subpar food. I even complained to Swiggy, and surprise — no action taken. So they keep getting away with this nonsense. If you’re looking to spend good money on bad food and a terrible experience, look no further. You’ve found the jackpot.

Ordered veg fried rice around 1045pm. They served stale rice. We returned it and asked it to be done afresh, they tried serving the same smelly rice. Waiter was very rude. We had to escalate and get his manager. Manager could smell the stale rice and offered something else. As it was late and we were very hungry, we ate there. Otherwise we would have gone to another restaurant. Cutlery in the table were yuck. See the photo.

I am writing to raise a serious concern regarding an order I placed from Nandhana Palace via Swiggy. I had ordered veg meals for my guests. Unfortunately, upon checking the food, I noticed bugs in the white rice. Since it was plain rice, I could clearly spot them — but I can only imagine what could have happened had I ordered biryani or any colored rice where such things might go unnoticed. This is extremely concerning, especially considering Nandhana Palace is a reputed restaurant. As a Jain, this incident has been deeply upsetting. I had to throw away the entire meal, as I couldn’t risk anyone consuming anything from that package after spotting bugs in the meals I strongly feel this is unacceptable: Food with bugs is a serious health hazard. This incident has caused embarrassment in front of guests and made me lose trust in both the platform and the restaurant.

I had ordered for food from nandhana palace nagarabhavi through Swiggy today (28-dec-2024). I had ordered for add on gulab jamoons., however when I opened the box , i saw stale jamoons with fungal moulds growing on them. The jamoons were spoilt and had bad smell. I was so shocked to see this. It’s so dangerous if consumed and can be life threatening too. How can they send such orders ? These must be at least 1 month old jamoons for so much fungus to grow on these. Strict action needs to be taken against this restaurant and make sure that such things don’t happen ever again.

Swathi Restaurant seems to offer a unique culinary experience, specializing in South Indian cuisine, particularly those influenced by Andhra styles. Many appear to praise the Andhra-style meals, suggesting a focus on flavorful, spicy dishes. The prevalence of mentions regarding a comprehensive thali indicates a potential for a filling and satisfying dining option.

While the food itself is frequently lauded, it’s noted that the service quality can be inconsistent. Improvements in management and staff attentiveness would likely enhance the overall customer experience. The restaurant’s focus on authentic flavors provides a reason to visit, with hope for more reliable service.

**Not a Proper Restaurant – Poor Service & Management** I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. The management seems to have only one priority—getting customers seated with a table—and then they completely forget about them. The managerial staff, particularly Srinivas and Sridhar, displayed poor customer service skills. Sridhar took my order but later informed me that some items were unavailable. The starters were delayed, and the main course was served inconsistently—one dish arrived first, while the second took an additional 15 minutes. This is not the kind of place where you should bring your family, as poor service can completely spoil the dining experience. Restaurants are meant to offer good service and a pleasant atmosphere, but this one fails in both aspects. Even the snacks counter staff were more engaged in phone calls than attending to customers. Bangalore folks, if you’ve been to this place, please share your feedback. From my experience, their management is among the worst.

Poor service.. had a similar experience at Swathi Gardenia. Arrogant management and staff. If you try to give feedback, they would turn sarcastic and try to look down on you. It’s definitely not worth the price we pay for the experience. Chicken starters were good – that’s the only good thing we experienced at this restaurant.

My experience at Swathi restaurant, Chord Road, was very unsatisfactory. The Veg meals were spoiled by putting too much soda in the white rice, and the sambhar tasted overly sweet. Also, the prices for chicken dishes like Chicken Raja and Kakinada chicken were too expensive, especially the chicken ghee roast, which was unreasonably priced at 300 rupees The overall dining experience left much to be desired, and I would not recommend it to others. The restaurant needs to address these issues to ensure customer satisfaction. The quality of food and pricing should align with customer expectations. I strongly advise against visiting this restaurant. I hope my feedback serves as valuable input to enhance the dining experience for future customers.

It was our first time having biryani at Nandhana (Koramangla branch) and the food were AMAZING!!! We ordered mushroom biryani and supreme boneless chicken biryani. Both dishes are so tasty and flavourful. Most importantly all the staff were so friendly, attentive and warm. Special thanks to Mr. Raja, Mr. Javaragowda and Ms. Sapna. We will definitely come back. Thank you.

Andhra Style Meals, Gunpowder and Ghee, Pappu and Ghee are the highlights of the meal, missing Gongura Pickle on the tables, Avakai was there. Chicken and Mutton starters were great add-on to the meal. Meal in itself is wholesome, try when you are hungry and have a free noon to relax.

A speciality andhra restaurant, known for it’s meals, also serves North indian, continental, seafood, has a party hall, good parking, staff need to be trained to converse in local language and explain about the specials, menu is elaborate and moderately priced, AC service hall

I had an amazing dining experience at Andhra Spice in RR Nagar! The biryani here is truly exceptional – perfectly cooked with just the right amount of spice, fragrant rice, and tender, flavorful meat that’s absolutely delicious. It’s easily one of the best biryanis I’ve had in the area. The fried fish was another highlight, crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned to perfection. It’s a must-try for anyone who loves authentic Andhra flavors. The service was prompt, and the staff were welcoming and attentive. Highly recommend Andhra Spice for anyone craving authentic Andhra cuisine!

Ordered Mutton Biriyani Meals, apart from biriyani rice, the quantity of the sides were less. Every dish tasted average except the Jamoon 🙂 If you love Biriyani, there are better options around. Veg meals is okay just like any other random Andhra meals. Also never order meals here for take away, restaurant looks premium but their packing is the worst and unsafe, hot curries in polythene cover.

Having dined in the kamanna Halli Royal Andhra Spice , we couldn’t miss out on it when we happened to see it in RR nagar. We ordered our usual veg mini meals along with two of our favourites – Guntur chicken and Andhra fried chicken, both semi gravy but very different in taste from each other. The Guntur chicken was spicy but delicious with its distinct rich Andhra flavours and cashews! Done to perfection it’s a great combination with the meals. The fried chicken is also semi gravy and is very tasty. The portion is more than enough for 2-3 people easily. The service is quick and the ambiance is good too although I love the ambiance of our kamannahalli restaurant more, the taste surely matches up and doesn’t disappoint. If you’re around there drop in and enjoy an Andhra meal with these side dishes! Definitely worth the visit. Parking may be a problem on weekends. Not sure if they have valet parking. We went on a weekday and luckily found a spot to park right outside on the roadside.

It’s a bit strange. I visit Bangalore, being from the city to visit family. Interestingly, I leave Hyderabad to visit and find that Bangalore has more “Andhra” style restaurants than Hyderabad, based on my observation. Is it the spice? Is it the legacy? And mind you, I am not speaking of the Hyderabadi Biryani which has become an iconi dish. I am speaking of the Guntur, Rayalseema, and what they call Andhra cuisine. Locally curated flavours and spices that are really good …..and can get really spicy! For us, the “usual” go to places were Nagarjuna, Nandhini Deluxe (now expanded to other forms with a similar name – Nandhana Palace, etc..). Most recently, we stumbled upon Royal Andhra Spice in the South Side of Bangalore. Having been there one or two times, the dish I could recall not getting over was their Non-Veg Meals. Unlike the traditional way a non-veg meal is served where you have 3-4 veg options and 1-2 non-veg items, this non veg meal has 3-4 non veg items, 1-2 veg items and here is the kicker – you get to choose Biryani too! On this occasion, it was a gathering of cousins that led us to choose a-la-carte. It was a spread that included the classic Chicken Biryani, Tawa Fish Fry (spectacular!) and Andhra Syle Chilli Chicken (Superbly Spicy!). By the way, I have yet to find this similar flavour of Biryani and Chilli Chicken here in Hyderabad, so if you know of a place, please let me know! Additionally Soups were ordered along with regular Dals and Rice. Everyone enjoyed their food and we went out with a happy belly and look forward to another visit soon enough. The highlight in this case being the Tawa Fish Fry – which took time to arrive, but was really well marinated and well prepared! Highly recommended. As for the ambience, the regular dining downstairs didn’t have sufficient space, so we sat at the first floor restaurant called Tycoon. More loungey in nature, with lighting to match, it was okay, nothing spectacular. Overall, though – I suggest getting their earlier, seating down and going nuts for the variety of Andhra style food available. Be warned, the food gets spicy really quickly!

The food is good but not soul satisfying. Tried the paneer biryani, which was mild spicy ️ but not too much as the typical Andhra style should be and the papad had a weird smell (maybe the oil is not seperated while cooking other dishes) But I really liked the Andhra Pink drink

Nandhana Restaurant in Bangalore offers a great Andhra cuisine experience with delicious, spicy dishes and The biryanis, especially the Chicken Biryani, are highly recommended for their taste and tenderness. The restaurant serves traditional Andhra meals on banana leaves, which adds to the authentic dining experience. The ambience is pleasant and suitable for family and friends, with good interiors and decor. They should improve their service. Overall, Nandhana is a solid choice for those craving authentic Andhra food in Bangalore.

A Satisfying Andhra Meal, But Some Dishes Missed the Mark Recently, I had the chance to try [Nandhana Palace] and overall, it was a pleasant experience. I opted for the Andhra Meals, which left me feeling quite satisfied. The spread was generous, featuring classic staples like flavorful pappu (lentil stew), crispy papad, simple and comforting white rice, a tangy rasam, a unique drumstick curry, a tasty dry vegetable curry, a sweet dish, and cooling curd. Each component was well-prepared and contributed to a truly enjoyable traditional Andhra meal. I also sampled the Paneer Sholay Kabab, and while it wasn’t bad, it tasted surprisingly similar to a standard Paneer 65. The flavor was decent, but what was disappointing was the very meager portion of paneer. For a dish highlighting paneer, the quantity was definitely lacking. Finally, I tried the Natti Veg Biryani, which I found to be quite good. It included a mix of vegetables like mushrooms, carrots, beans, and kidney beans, all well-integrated with the fragrant rice. The biryani had a nice flavor profile. However, the quantity felt somewhat small for the ₹320 price tag. In terms of ambiance, the seating was comfortable, and the service was quite satisfactory – attentive and prompt. Despite a couple of dishes not quite hitting the mark in terms of quantity or uniqueness, my overall experience at was good, primarily thanks to the satisfying Andhra Meals. I would consider visiting again, perhaps focusing on their traditional meal offerings.

After noticing several branches across Bangalore and hearing about its reputation, we decided to give this restaurant a try. The Supreme Boneless Chicken Biryani was good, but the Keema Biryani didn’t live up to expectations and didn’t feel worth the price. A bit more gravy would have been ideal, as the portion provided wasn’t quite enough for all the rice. The dal powder (podi) that was placed in the table tasted great with rice along with ghee.

Very compact dining space & tables are placed very close. If someone is drinking at the next table & you are with you family, then … Food is pretty average. Tandoori chicken half cooked.. Mutton masala is semi cooked. Mutton pieces are very much pre boiled, just mixing with gravy… chicken biryani portion & piece size is less & small.. Kulcha or bread is half star.. You may feel the service person is under some pressure to serve well & in hurry. Definitely the restaurant is underperfoming.. My first and last time..

I tried their andhra meals, romali roti, butter chicken, chilli chicken leg piece, mutton ghee roast. Andhra meals for 315/- is expensive, chilli chicken leg piece, romali roti and Butter chicken were good. Mutton ghee roast was pathetic, they just tossed cooked mutton pieces into ghee roast masala due to which it wasn’t marinated so no taste.

I ordered biryani from this place and found a sharp piece of metal wire in my food — likely from a scrubber or cleaning tool. I was lucky enough to notice it before accidentally swallowing it, but this could’ve caused serious internal injuries. I did get a refund after reporting it, but there was no proper apology or accountability. This isn’t just a “mistake” — it’s a major food safety risk. Attaching proof in the photos — eat here at your own risk. I won’t be ordering again unless they seriously improve hygiene standards. Biryani should not come with free hardware.

Nandhana Palace in JP Nagar offers a reliably tasty experience for fans of Andhra cuisine. The quality of the food itself tends to be a highlight, with the chicken biryani consistently receiving praise for its flavor and aroma when enjoyed in-house.

While the overall service appears to sometimes fluctuate, resulting in occasional delays or order discrepancies, it doesn’s detract significantly from the ability to enjoy the food. Addressing issues with packaging and delivery logistics would enhance the overall customer well-being and provide a more consistent positive experience.

We visited here on 1st Jun’25. Place is at popular 24th Main road in JP Nagar. This place is surrounded by several popular restaurants. Great ambience and tasty food items. Chicken roast, special chicken biryani are good choice. Popular places for chicken biriyani. Andra style spicy food available here. Nellore chicken biryani (jeera rice) and Nandana special chicken biryani is popular. Tender coconut pudding, chicken and mutton spice soup is good. Valet car parking available.

I ordered chicken biryani, pepper chicken, gobi Manchurian, and egg chilli through Zomato, but the food was disappointing. The Manchurian was overly sweet, the chicken biryani wasn’t up to the mark, and the pepper chicken was too oily and lacked good flavor. I’ve seen good reviews about this restaurant, but maybe they don’t put much care into their parcel orders through Zomato and the order was costly too .Overall, I wasn’t satisfied with the experience.

Went for dinner and must say experienced the worst service of Nandhana in this branch. First when we went in, had to wait 5-6 mins for the person to come to ask the order (FYI: restaurant had around 10-15 guest who were already eating. Video attached below showing empty restaurant seats). Then once we ordered we had to wait 40 mins for our order to come. We asked one of the sever how much time would it take and he just went and came back with no response and stood there. Coming to good part food tasted amazing. We took Naati chicken biriyani which had amazing aroma and taste was perfect (9/10). Overall this is the only branch which I had this worst experience of waiting for the food.

Why are Andhra restaurants so popular in Bangalore?

Bangalore has a large population from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and the demand for authentic Andhra food has been steadily increasing. The spicy and flavorful nature of Andhra cuisine appeals to a broad audience. Moreover, many Andhra restaurants offer generous portions at affordable prices, making them a popular choice for budget-conscious diners.

What are some signature Andhra dishes I should try?

Some must-try Andhra dishes include Biryani (often spicier than Hyderabadi versions), Chettinad Chicken (though originating from Tamil Nadu, it’s commonly found in Andhra restaurants), Ulavacharu (horse gram soup known for its unique flavor), Mirchi Bajji (chili fritters), Pesarattu (green gram dosa), and various curries using mutton, chicken, or seafood. Don't be afraid to ask about the spice level!

How do Andhra restaurants differ from other South Indian restaurants?

I’m not used to spicy food. Can I still enjoy Andhra cuisine?

Absolutely! While Andhra food is known for its spice, many restaurants are willing to adjust the spice level upon request. Don’t hesitate to ask for a "mild" version or to order dishes that are known to be less spicy, like Pesarattu or certain vegetable curries. They can also often provide cooling accompaniments like yogurt or raita.

What is Ulavacharu and why is it unique?

Ulavacharu is a traditional Andhra soup made from horse gram. Its unique flavor profile comes from the fermentation process, which gives it a slightly sour and earthy taste. It’s known for its digestive properties and is often served as a starter. Many consider it an acquired taste, but it’s a truly authentic Andhra experience.

What kind of ambiance can I expect at Andhra restaurants?

Don't expect elaborate decor—the focus is on the taste of the food. Some may be crowded and noisy, especially during peak hours.

Are there any popular Andhra restaurant chains in Bangalore?

While Andhra restaurants are mostly family-owned and independent businesses, there are a few chains that have gained popularity. However, the charm often lies in discovering smaller, less-known gems throughout the city.
