Tis really nice
Asmita Das (☆ 5/5)

The food was not extremely good, but definitely good. Not as much as the hype says. We ate outside the restaurant, by the road side. There were rats near the restaurant where people sat to eat. The food was surprisingly well priced. Overall, would recommend for a local, but as a tourist it’s not that great of a place to put in a bucket list.
Vivek V J (☆ 4/5)

What a place extremely amazing
Authentic fresh food served at the most budget price
The chutney is simply amazing
Very organised place
A counter for bill in the same row you get idli vada continuing the same line or quene you get dosa a seperate counter for extra chutney
Mehak Gupta (☆ 5/5)

Taaza Thindi’s Jayanagar outlet is a highly popular self-service eatery, renowned for its incredibly hygienic and cost-effective breakfast items. Their limited menu includes staples like idli, vada, dosa, kharabhat, kesari bhat, tea, and coffee. Notably, only chutney is served with the items, there’s no sambar.
The preparation area is consistently clean and well-maintained. However, seating is quite limited, and you’ll almost always find a queue, especially for dosa items. During peak breakfast and evening hours, particularly on weekends, the crowd can be quite unmanageable. Due to its location, there’s no room for expansion, and even two-wheeler parking can be difficult.
Despite the crowd, the food quality shines. The idlis are wonderfully soft and pair exceptionally well with their standout chutney, which complements every item perfectly. Prices are very moderately set, offering great value. The presence of two token counters helps manage the flow, but be prepared for a bustling atmosphere. Overall, Taaza Thindi is a fantastic option for a quick, delicious, and budget-friendly South Indian breakfast, provided you don’t mind the crowds and limited seating.
saish gaonkar (☆ 5/5)

The food is amazing. Great for a quick bite breakfast.
Masala butter dosa, idly, vada and cutting coffee. Amazing preparation.
Tough to find a place to sit. No siting space available – except for bench for some folks to sit and eat. Can have 10minutes + waiting time.
varun kalra (☆ 5/5)

Always wanted to try out early morning breakfast at this place. Reached at around 8am and it was operating in full swing. So much crowd, but very organised.
▪️Seating: Indoor seating is available but very limited, can sit outside as well
▪️Service: Self-service. Take the token and stand in the queue to get the famous dosae.
▪️Food: Wide variety of items and amazing quality & taste at super affordable price.
▪️Ambience: Good – Very simple & authentic place.
My order – Idli & Vada, masala dosa, Kesari bhaat and their chutney is the best
Overall Verdict: Highly Recommended ✅
Mehul Chaudhary (☆ 5/5)

Vidyarthi Bhavan holds a legendary status, and experiencing it is about more than just the food. The establishment offers a unique ambiance, a throwback to a simpler time with a classic, unassuming charm. The popularity means you should be prepared for potential waits, as the sheer volume of patrons seeking their signature dishes creates a lively atmosphere. The efficient pace of service is a reflection of this demand, prioritizing quick turnaround to accommodate everyone.
The menu might be concise, but the focus allows for exceptional execution of each item. Their specialized dosa preparation truly defines the experience. It’s a place that earns its reputation not just through taste, but through a commitment to preserving a particular tradition. A visit provides a taste of history and a genuine representation of South Indian culinary heritage.

I had their super masala dosa it was delicious, crispy and lived up to its reputation. This place is a classic old-style restaurant with a simple yet charming atmosphere that takes you back in time. It can get a bit crowded, but the taste makes it worth the wait. If you love authentic South Indian breakfast, this iconic spot is definitely a must-try!
Chiranjeevi (☆ 5/5)

It’s one of the legendary hotels and mainly famous for masala dose.
And the waiters also are in urgent for customers.
One time must try if you’re a foodie.
The dose was fully crispy and it was the main tasty for that and the chutney was nice and nothing special in taste medium flavour and finally must try for once and little hype and crowded.
Overall 4 out of 5.
Naveen Kumar (☆ 4/5)

Finding a seat is a hunch, You need to wait any time you go, we wait 10 min as we visited in Morning weekdays. The staff is good but they take 2 times and the serving time is a lot, Keep some petition for it. Food quality is good but not so special, Because of its history people used to come and Insta reel is still famous
RAHUL RAJ (☆ 4/5)

After so much hype finally managed to visit this legendary place with my friends
Had Rava vada, chow chow bath, masala dosa. To be honest i prefer CTR hotel masala dosa from Malleswaram
Chow chow bath, Rava vada was good. Unfortunately uddina vada was over
To top it off we finished with filter coffee it was damn good. Would definitely visit again and recommend it
If you are visiting on the weekend then be prepared to wait for your turn to get into the hotel
Visited for the old school charm of Basavanagudi and was not disappointed
Would recommend you to call early and make reservations
Nagesh Narasimha Murthy (☆ 5/5)

The place is extremely hyped and highly crowded. Getting a seat to have food is a task in itself. Staff is unbearably rude. Staff doesn’t have patience and not even on far end the well behaviour, gentleness is seen in them. The service is very random. Food taste isn’t as good as it’s hype over everywhere. For the price it’s mentioned the food ain’t even decent to it. The customer is treated like an unwanted guest. Even though the menu has finger countable items , the service remains worst possible. I don’t recommend such place neither for food nor for the service.
Snehalata Gudadinni (☆ 2/5)

Vidyarthi Bhavan is undoubtedly a popular destination, often drawing large crowds, especially during peak hours, which is a testament to its iconic status and long-standing reputation. The dosas here are prepared in a distinct style, offering a unique taste that sets them apart from the more conventional varieties. While this signature flavor appeals to many, it may not align with everyone’s palate.
Given the high footfall, the service tends to be brisk and can feel a bit rushed. There’s certainly room for improvement in this aspect, though it’s understandable considering the volume of customers they handle daily.
Overall, Vidyarthi Bhavan offers a nostalgic culinary experience worth trying, particularly for those interested in traditional dosas. Patience is key when visiting, especially during busy times.
Thushar Sumer (☆ 3/5)

Heritage restaurant with very limited menu and food option. Tried their top rated Masala dosa , which was perfectly done. Vada was crispy sambhar was. Super spicy. Also tried kesari bath and coffee

Vishy nair (☆ 5/5)

Excellent Experience at Central Tiffin Room!
I had a truly fantastic experience at Central Tiffin Room. The food was absolutely delicious, deserving every one of its five stars – fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared.
The service was equally impressive. The staff were attentive, polite, and efficient, making sure our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable from start to finish.
The atmosphere was also wonderful – very pleasant and inviting, contributing to a relaxed and enjoyable meal.
I particularly enjoyed the breakfast options here, which were outstanding. I highly recommend Central Tiffin Room for anyone looking for a superb dining experience!
Seenu Singh (☆ 5/5)

With its rich history and immense popularity, this place truly embodies the essence of Bengaluru. Known for its crispy dosas, the taste and texture make every bite feel worthwhile. Alongside dosa, dishes like vada, khara bath, Kesari bath, and poori are equally exquisite, making this a personal favorite. Don’t miss their specialty—Mangalore buns or goli baje—both are a must-try. Every meal here is best concluded with their signature filter coffee, which comes highly recommended.
The staff is friendly, though the seating may feel a bit cramped for some. Due to its popularity, weekends can be crowded, leading to some wait time. However, with seating available on both the ground and first floors, the queue moves quickly. While prices have increased over the years, the history and authenticity of the place make it well worth it.
Adarsha BS (☆ 5/5)

Established in 1920, this is one of those hidden gem of malleshwara. Visited by Virat Kohli, Deepika padukone it has added another feather into the hat. Love their amazing mangalore bajji, benne masala dosa, signature coffee. Be ready to stand in queue to visit this nostalgic place. However, people do comment on food being overhyped, which is left to each individual.
Chandrashekar Shenoy (☆ 4/5)

Central Tiffin Room (CTR) in Malleswaram is truly a landmark when it comes to breakfast in Bangalore. With its deep-rooted history and timeless charm, stepping into CTR feels like taking a trip down memory lane. The vintage ambiance, the aroma of fresh dosas, and the bustling atmosphere bring a sense of nostalgia that’s hard to find elsewhere in the city.
We visited on a Saturday early morning and, unsurprisingly, had to wait around 20 to 25 minutes to get a table. The place is almost always crowded, but the waiting time is well worth it. Once seated, we ordered plain benne dosa, benne masala dosa, a plate of puri, kesari bath, and tea. Each item was delicious — the dosas were crisp on the outside and buttery soft inside, and the kesari bath was perfectly sweet and flavorful. The puris were puffed and served hot, and the tea was a comforting finish to a fulfilling meal.
The staff were courteous and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our visit. Despite the rush, the service was smooth and efficient.
If you’re in Bangalore, especially near Malleswaram, a breakfast visit to CTR is an experience you shouldn’t miss!
AJAY JP (☆ 4/5)

Service and atmosphere were good. We ordered benne dosa and masala dosa with filter coffee. The filter coffee was good, but the dosa’s had way too much oil—so much that it got all over our hands. The excessive oil overpowered the taste of the dosa, making it difficult to enjoy. Oil was literally dripping from dosa.
One feedback would be to maintain authenticity in the preparation. Will never prefer going, chutney was also different. Highly dissatisfied.
jaishree dubey (☆ 1/5)

One of the most popular restaurants in Bangalore and in Malleshwaram. We regularly visit this place whenever we visit Malleshwaram.
We visited here for breakfast at 9am on Sunday. We got seat after 30min. waiting in a queue.
Taste is same even though there is a change in Management.
Masala dosa is very popular here. Poori Baji and chow chow bath also tasted good. Coffee’s taste is good.
A must visit restaurant whenever you’re in Malleshwaram.
Place is clean and well maintained. Staff are good and prompt service
Road side car parking available nearby

Veena Stores is a local institution renowned for its dedication to traditional South Indian breakfast fare. The atmosphere is generally quite efficient, geared toward a quick and satisfying meal. The service is consistently praised for its speed and user-friendliness, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience even during peak hours. Promptness and efficiency are hallmarks of their operation.
The food itself is the main draw, consistently described as exceptionally flavorful and authentic. Their specialty, the idli, is frequently cited as being remarkably soft, and the homemade chutneys add a unique and delicious complexity to the meal. It’s a spot for those seeking a simple, fulfilling breakfast focused on quality ingredients and time-honored recipes.

Customer Reviews
It was a nice experience but not best as I have eaten better south Indian breakfast in other places. The atmosphere was cozy. I loved the road and the total area. Service is user friendly and less chaos. Crowd management is great. Recommended to visit atleast for experience. But yes, food was not so good for me. It was okay.
Ankita Samal (☆ 4/5)

I recently visited Veena Stores and had a fantastic experience. The taste of the food was absolutely amazing , authentic, flavorful, and freshly prepared. What stood out even more was their modern touch: they have an automatic order machine, making the whole process smooth and efficient. With a wide variety of food options to choose from, it’s a perfect blend of tradition and technology. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great South Indian food with a hassle-free experience!
Samruddh s kannaiya (☆ 5/5)

Amazing place to try out authentic Kannadiga breakfast cuisine. The food is simple yet very flavourful and elegant. The shop begins at 6:30am every morning and shutters down by 8;30am, except on Sundays where they’re operational till 11:30am. Even at the break of dawn you’ll find a loyal stream of hungry customers manoeuvering through the counters to order their favourite food.
The service is prompt – you get your coupons and soon as you place your order your food is ready. There are buckets of chutney from which you can serve yourself. Do note, there’s barely any place to sit.
The food is heavenly. I highly recommend the idli – personally I’ve never had such soft idlis yet. Bisi Bele Bhath is the right amount of masala and the fried boondis balance out the spice. Puliogre (tamarind rice) is tangy and cooked to perfection. Chow chow bhath is basically upma and kesari/sheera, one serving each – very filling. Only the filter coffee I found a bit disappointing. But overall it’s a must must must if you’re ever in Malleshwaram.
Siddharth Sadanandan (☆ 5/5)

Situated at Malleshwaram, Bangalore, this cafe being one of the oldest breakfast corners in the city serves lips smacking south Indian dishes like Idle, medu vada etc. I have tasted idli with Medu Vada with the unique pudina and coconut chutney which make it an awesome combination. The idli to me was the softest one I have tried. The chutney was also uniquely nice. The lead time of serving is too less in spite of the heavy crowd all the time. Also, I had the filter coffee here which is also very good. All the prices are reasonable. They have a small room for sitting inside which accommodates roughly 10 to 12 people at a time, mostly people love to have them outside the cafe only.
SAYAN CHATTERJEE (☆ 4/5)

Finally made it to Veena Stores in Malleshwaram—and now I get the hype. Super soft idlis, piping hot vadas, and that chutney? Unreal. No sambar needed, honestly. I also tried the chow chow bath and it hit the spot—perfect mix of sweet and spicy.
It’s more of a stand-and-eat place, no seating, but the food is totally worth it. Simple, quick, and full of flavor. If you’re in the area, definitely drop by. Just make sure to go early—around 6 AM—if you want to beat the crowd. It gets packed real quick!
Pratik Shirdhankar (☆ 4/5)

If you’re in Malleshwaram , make sure to stop by Veena Stores. I can’t recommend their idli, kesari bath, and vada enough – they are truly awesome. The idlis are soft, the kesari bath perfectly sweet, and the vadas are crisp perfection. A fantastic spot that you absolutely must try
Rahul P (☆ 5/5)

We had vada and idly for breakfast—an absolute delight!
The vada was perfectly crispy, while the idly was soft and fluffy.
The chutney, infused with fresh curry leaves (karvepak), added an aromatic touch that elevated the entire meal.
A must-try experience for anyone who appreciates authentic South Indian flavors.

One of my favorite breakfast places in Bangalore!
Tried the Farmer’s Breakfast, English Breakfast, and the Beef Burger — and honestly, everything was super tasty. Portions are generous, flavors are on point, and the food just hits the spot.
The place has a really chill vibe, perfect for a lazy morning or brunch with friends. Definitely feels like one of those hidden gems you keep coming back to.
If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!
Ajzab C Sulfikar (☆ 5/5)

Love the vibe of the place. Service was a little slow. I was not a fan of the coffees. However the breakfast was delicious. We ordered A Chicken special and churro pancakes. They were delectable and filling. Savoured every last bite of it. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. It was bustling but warm and comfortable.

Fantastic Breakfast Spot!
This cafe is a winner for breakfast. The huge selection of meat and burgers is a highlight, and the ambience is excellent, thanks to the beautifully decorated old house filled with interesting collective items and books. The staff are great, with a good attitude and very helpful. The food was excellent, especially the sausages and burgers, and the price is affordable for the quality. Highly recommend!

Hole in the Wall Cafe in Koramangala is such a cozy spot! The food is absolutely delicious — every bite was worth it. Even though it gets pretty crowded, they manage to serve on time without compromising on quality. The atmosphere is super chill and relaxing, perfect for catching up with friends or just enjoying a good meal. Definitely a place I’d keep coming back to!

Hole in the Wall Cafe is a gem of a spot with amazing vibes! It’s perfect for couples looking for a cozy setting or friends who want to hang out and relax. The place has a youthful energy, and it’s mostly filled with teens, which adds to its lively atmosphere.
The taste of the food is genuinely good—I really enjoyed what I ordered. The service was friendly and efficient, making the experience even better.
I absolutely loved the overall vibe and would definitely visit again if I get the chance. Highly recommend it for a chill outing!
Gauri Diwate (☆ 5/5)

True to its name, Hole in the Wall Café is quite literally tucked away from plain sight – if you’re not paying attention, you might just miss it. But don’t let the inconspicuous exterior fool you. Step inside, and you’ll find yourself in a warm, bustling space that’s surprisingly spacious, vibrant, and full of charm. The café’s aesthetic strikes the perfect balance between modern brightness and old-world coziness.
The popularity of this place is undeniable – there’s usually a queue of eager food lovers waiting outside, which speaks volumes about its reputation. We were lucky enough to find a spot and indulged in a hearty breakfast that hit all the right notes. From fluffy eggs to crispy toast and creamy coffee, every element of the meal was thoughtfully prepared and deeply satisfying.
One of the highlights for me was the curated bookshelf, which added a touch of serenity to the lively space. I wish I had more time to sip my coffee and get lost in a good read, but the quick table turnover meant moving on sooner than I’d like. Still, it’s a café that stays with you – comforting, delicious, and memorable. Absolutely worth a visit (or two)!
Prachee Ghodke (☆ 5/5)

I had a sloppy joe burger (₹280) and tiramisu pancake (₹270) for breakfast. The burger was really good along with the chips. The pancake was also pretty good. Overall a good experience.

I got to know about ‘Bengaluru Cafe’ from Kripal Amanna’s Food Lovers TV. My experience tells me that Kripal does an excellent job with the breakfast places. So, my partner and I decided to visit the humble eatery. Also, the fact that there are more than 13K reviews on the place added to our excitement. One of my PhD scholars decided to join us for the culinary rendezvous. We visited the place yesterday (Saturday – May 24, 2025). At the cafe, we ordered three (3) plates of Butter Masala Dosa, one (1) plate of Idly (1), one (1) plate of Vada, one (1) plate of Khara Bath, and one (1) plate of Jamoon. Let me say with some confidence that the experience was heavenly. All the items were unbelievably tasty. I would go to the extent of saying that Butter Masala Dosa remains the best that I have tasted in my life. The service is extremely fast, and the approach of the staff is cordial. Most importantly, the food is extremely economical thus making it an ideal place for students. Anyone who comes to Bengaluru must visit this place without fail. Fantastic work folks! We shall be back to this place sooner than usual.

This place is a great spot for delicious food The menu offers a variety of options, and the taste is consistently good. The staff are friendly. However, there is no seating area, and there’s limited space to comfortably enjoy your meal. Additionally, the food is served directly to you without any tables to place it on, which can be a bit inconvenient. Despite these minor issues, the food quality makes up for it. Would recommend for a quick bite, but plan to eat quickly and leave
Sanman Gowdar (San's Creations) (☆ 4/5)

Visited the famous Bengaluru cafe on a Sunday. This is a small outlet & crowded most of the time. It takes atleast 10 to 15 mins to order and get your food. Had idly, vada, butter masala dosa and coffee. Vada is crispy & perfect, a must try. Idly and butter masala dosa are delicious but should be little bigger in size for the price. Coffee is good. The restaurant entrance is stinking. Please fix it ASAP. Overall, this place is a vibe and worth visiting once.
Naveen Kumar (☆ 4/5)

One stop for all your South Indian tiffin cravings.
We went on Saturday and it was very crowded in the evening.
The token system is very organised with proper queue system followed.
We had the vada which was so crispy and so light. It was perfect with the chutney.
The idly was light and fluffy.
The Goli Bhajji was so airy and flavourful.
The masala dosa was the highlight of the meal and it was crispy and delicious. There was no red chutney and the potato filling was tasty.
The filter coffee should not be missed at all.
For the sweet tooth, the kesari baath was good.
sally josephine (☆ 5/5)

My go to spot for perfect dhoseys and coffee.
It is a very crowded space and no seating available.
My favorites from the menu are masala dhosey, coffee, kesaribath. And mangalore bonda is hard inside so apart from this i found evrything else good and tasty prepared in a cleand kitchen environment.
Rashmi Ram (☆ 5/5)

I had the best masala dosa of my life here. Perfectly crispy on the outside and soft inside. Pineapple sheera was so good. Not over sweet, little chunks of pineapple. Khara bhath was also so good. Idli was soft and crispy vada was also so good , we liked everything here. Millet kitchdi was a bit runny. Filter coffees were so strong and good.
It was a bit over crowded on a weekend morning. But yet the surroundings were clean and maintained well. Plates were eco friendly. I just wish they made more tables to eat instead of holding it in hand even if there were no seats to sit.
Rachitha Kote (☆ 5/5)

Finally visited the popular Bengaluru Cafe, and as expected—it was packed! I went in the evening and was already full, so I just tried their coffee, which was really good. Definitely planning to go back and try the food next time.
The vibe here is something else—super energetic, lots of people, and self-service billing adds to the hustle. The surrounding area is also really nice and pleasant to walk around.
If you’re looking for a lively café experience, this is a must-visit on a weekend!

Customer Reviews
The food here is a little on the pricey side but the quantity is good enough and the taste is good.
Tables are screwed in so adjusting can feel difficult towards the sofa sides.
The served water there is not good though they claim it is RO, there is some foul taste to it; recommend to buy a water bottle.
The plates always kept slipping while eating. It just did not have enough grip to hold on while eating.
Atharav Pujari (☆ 3/5)

It was a rainy evening when we went. The management has a couple of car’s parking spots out front. If that gets filled up, within the premises there’s paid parking which is ridiculous. The management can come to an understanding with the paid parking staff and upon producing the bill of the hotel, parking fees can be waived off. I found that as a hiccup. Other than that the food seemed fine and tasty. It was very crowded after 8:00 pm. So if you’re a family or group of friends, prior intimation might help.
Shashaank CD (☆ 4/5)

Visited this place after about 15 yrs, and of course things have changed.
The service is great, and there is ample seating space. We were a large group and were able to find appropriate seating.
The food is okay. Pricing seems appropriate.
Cars can be parked in front of the restaurant, however that can accommodate about 10 cars or so.
Cards, cash and UPI payments accepted here.
Sharath R Babu (☆ 3/5)

Walk in. Rawa masala dosa was yummy except a bit more oily. Filter coffee wasn’t that good as milk was diluted with water. Mango juice was not authentic. Service was poor as service staff was not focused. The ambience was good. Overall a pretty good experience
Amith K (☆ 3/5)

Very nice pure vegetarian food, As a family party we ordered different items like north Indian , Chinese, dosas , ice creams. Each item was tasty and authentic. One remark is quantity is less compared to respective rates. The atmosphere is cool with AC. Interiors, neat ness OK, service good. Enjoyed lunch.
Surendra R Phadke (☆ 5/5)

The place was premium and the food quality was top notch. Staff were friendly and the ambience was great. If you want to dine at a premium restaurant which can go above 300/- pax, then you can give this restaurant a try.
One thing to note is that, they don’t have thali-type meals. They have a lot of Chinese cuisines though.

Thank you, the food was really good, we enjoyed it. Just a small note — it felt like the tone while taking the order (by the guy with red tie on 14 June) was a bit rushed or stern. Maybe a slightly warmer approach could make the experience even better.

The place is stylised to feel like a breakfast joint and café in US. Lot of US pop culture staples and memorabilia. With classic rock playing in the background.
Nice clean tables, and vibes. Service is good. Food will be served hot, when it’s ready. Waiters are friendly. This is a place you spend time at, so relax, study or get some work done!
They have sockets, but carry your own chargers.
I wish the chairs were a little more comfortable or had some cushion. But few sofas are fine.
The food, drinks, and tableware provides is great for the price!
I tried a Chicken Main course, some French toast and some latte of my choice.
And, it was surprisingly good!
PS- Is it me? Or, Does Macha taste like bha**g!

The 154 All Meat Sandwich was absolutely delicious, packed with flavors, and a must-try for meat lovers

Service was great, staff were lovely, the food was fantastic. They know what they’re doing. Steak was perfectly medium( as requested) pepper sauce was like a demiglace with pepper which went great with the steak. Fry up was awesome, beef sausages were soft and the salsa was great. Bacon was done well, and overall a great experience. Well done to the team! Lemon iced tea was also very nice.
Emergency Exit (☆ 5/5)

One of my favourite places. Excellent for breakfast and brunch! Have come here a few times and each time the experience was exactly as good with the food, ambience, and service too.
PS: Weekends are usually crowded, so the wait time may be slightly longer. They accommodate seating for wait, but best to stay patient or plan your visit at non peak hours.
Prutha Lonikar (☆ 5/5)

If you are looking for a hearty breakfast, this is the place to be at! The moment you enter you are welcomed with the aroma of coffee and waffles! We had Lock, Stock, Barrel, 154 Tripple play waffles, peach ice tea and Cold brew! The Lock, Stock, Barrel is a monstrous meaty creation, 3 types of sausages, salami, bacon, salsa, toast and lots of eggs – easily shareable for 2-3 people. The pork and beef sausages were excellent, very fatty crunchy bacon and very fresh and flavorful salsa! The Tripple play waffles are waffles topped with 3 flavours – chocolate, blueberry compote and banana – very fluffy, not too sweet and just yum! The cold brew was strong and had a whiskey undertone, perfect with the meaty mains. The ice tea was made in house, very strong and not the syrupy one!
Everything was perfect, great service and a warm welcoming ambience.
Anil Vignesh (☆ 5/5)

The 154 Breakfast Club is a go-to spot for breakfast lovers in Bangalore, offering a cozy ambiance and an all-day breakfast menu that never disappoints. Their selection features fluffy pancakes, indulgent French toast with blueberry jam and whipped cream, and an array of meaty delights, making it a paradise for food enthusiasts.
We tried the Stairway to Heaven and Meat the Maker breakfasts—both packed with flavors that truly lived up to their names. The meal was perfectly complemented by their rich, aromatic coffee, with the Matardo and Mocha being our top picks.
Though the place tends to get crowded, and parking can be tricky, the lively atmosphere, warm hospitality, and incredible food make it absolutely worth the visit. Personally, the fish steak was my favorite—an absolute must-try!
Samadrita Chanda (☆ 5/5)

The place is wonderful, offering a huge variety of all-day breakfast items, steaks, burgers, and fresh fruit juices.
I ordered a Chick Chicken ’n Me breakfast platter with scrambled eggs, which I would rate a 10/10—I totally loved and enjoyed every bit of it. Along with it, I had an orange juice and a Basque cheesecake, which I felt were unreasonably expensive for the serving size but tasted good, so I’d rate them 7/10 and 9/10, respectively.
I would definitely visit again. Also, this place has long queues on holidays for breakfast and brunch.

A very old gem in Koramangala. This small place is a must visit if you’re looking for the not so sweet sambar and amazing breakfast items. They open at 8:30 and close at 11:30 as lunch starts from 12pm onwards. Both, a must try! My personal favourite is the ghee roast and filter coffee. This is on the first floor without a lift. Also, please carry cash when you go. They don’t have UPI or card system.

Didn’t click any photo as they didn’t serve all items at once. Will take one the next time

Koshy’s offers a truly unique dining experience, steeped in a sense of history and charm. The ambiance is a significant draw; it’s a place where time seems to slow, allowing for relaxed conversations and a feeling of stepping back into a different era. The staff, while perhaps not always the picture of polished service, possess a certain familiarity and character that adds to the overall atmosphere. You’re not just visiting a restaurant; you’re engaging with a tradition.
The menu boasts classic comfort food, prepared with simple yet satisfying recipes. The beef fry is a particular highlight, a flavorful and generously portioned dish perfect for sharing. Similarly, the cheese omelet delivers a dependable and comforting start to any morning. While expectations for swift or overly attentive service should be adjusted, the quality of the food and the undeniable character of the location make Koshy’s a worthwhile visit for those seeking a memorable and relaxed outing. The kaya toast is also a pleasant surprise, worth a try for those unfamiliar with this treat.

This restaurant is hyped so much that one can plan to go here and see the beautiful old ambience of Bangalore and relive the old and golden times spent by our great people of Bangalore, food is average , the interiors is beautiful reminding you the old club culture Bangalore days. We ordered Fish fingers which was good also Mutton Briyani was good . But the Chicken steak was not what we excepted. Staff have their own way of handling the customers . As I have seen many reviews about this place that staff is not friendly etc… but I had a very good experience and they were good and knew about the menu and cooperative too.
Food was average not as great as it was hyped .
Overall I would recommend this place only to
People who would love to come here and have the experience with their loved ones and relive the old Bangalore days.
Ramya Appaji (☆ 3/5)

Disappointed by the Food, Saved by the Ambience
Honestly, I had heard a lot about Koshy’s and decided to visit with high expectations, only to be left disappointed—especially by the lunch menu. While the dishes sounded fancy on paper, they completely lacked flavour. Everything we ordered was surprisingly bland.
The Chicken Florentine was especially underwhelming—the white sauce was lumpy and reminded me of wallpaper paste, and the chicken itself tasted like it was just boiled with no seasoning. The Vegetable Malai Kofta had a rich color that promised a punch of flavor but delivered none. It was bland and lifeless, like most of the meal. We were hungry, and the salt and pepper on the table ended up doing the heavy lifting.
The pickle and raita ended up being the most flavourful items on the table. The French fries and tomato soup were decent, with at least some seasoning.
To be fair, the staff were courteous and the ambience was fantastic, which makes this review even harder to write. The place clearly has a legacy and charm, but the food fell shockingly short—especially for the prices they charge.
Really hope they get their bearings and bring back the flavours they’re known for. Until then, I’m not sure I’d recommend it for a proper meal.

Koshys is an emotion! I have been going here from many years and the taste never changed. I have tried I think most of the dishes and they have been satisfactory. We also tried the Kaya bread toast from Sunday special which was good.
I like the service too, they are quick and the atmosphere is vintage. However, the washroom was very bad today even though we went right at 9 am.

small-plate lovers, and anyone who appreciates a touch of vintage elegance is the best place for breakfast, lunch or dinner best suit even for a snacker with drinks.
French toast is top notch, feels light.
But, the pepper chicken was over priced of 400/- just for an half plate. Rest everything was good.

Beware of getting scammed!
The restaurant had a decent ambience. I ordered a veg club sandwich and it was decent. After having my food, I immediately went to the payment counter since I had a train to catch. They noticed that I was in a hurry and cunningly added an extra butter roti to my bill, thinking I wouldn’t notice (which I didn’t because I was in a hurry). I then paid using my credit card without looking at the amount. It was only when I came out of the restaurant and casually glanced at my bill that I noticed the extra item. And that they tried to scam me by making me pay 420 Rs instead of 252. I went back and confronted them. Having been caught in the act, they promptly refunded the extra money to me in cash.
If you have to visit the restaurant, just be extra vigilant for any cheap tactics they might try to pull. Apart from that, the rest is good.
Kabir Nazir (☆ 1/5)

I’m not from Bangalore, but I’m a frequent visitor. I seldom have work in the city—I visit Bangalore only to chill, revisit my favourite haunts, and discover new ones.
Koshy’s has been one of those haunts for as long as I’ve known the city. My parents and I would stay at the Bowring Club (just around the corner from Koshy’s), and in the pleasant Bangalore evenings, we’d pop out for a cuppa and a snack. There was always this lovely, chatty buzz in the air—you just got the feeling that everyone there was a proper foodie, and a non-vegetarian one at that. My parents always ordered the ham sandwich and maybe another little something, but I honestly don’t remember anything else, and for good reason. Even now—some 20 years later—whenever I go, I still order the same ham sandwich I did when I was ten. There’s nothing fancy to it—just white bread, butter, and ham, neatly stacked, crusts trimmed, and halved at some random angle.
I like to sit by the window, read a book, and have slow conversations with a friend. That’s the ideal Koshy’s day or evening for me. Once, as I sat at my usual window spot, I saw a waiter carrying a glass of iced tea with a shot of something on the side. He reached the table, gave a slight nod, and casually dropped the shot into the tea. I had to know what that was. He told me it was rum and iced tea, and asked if I wanted one. Of course I did. I asked for two—one for me and one for my mate. We had two more each after that, and the evening got funnier, as it tends to with us dribbling away. We hobbled out the door grinning, just in time to catch a tuk.
And that, really, is the vibe at Koshy’s. It’s not an institution from your time, and your expectations need adjusting. You sit. You wait. You let things happen as they will. And you don’t go around ordering whatever you think you might like from the menu. You order the ham sandwich and a drink of your choice (my recommendation: a chilled beer or that rum & iced tea combo I mentioned). Then you observe the regulars, the ones who look like they know what they’re doing. You unapologetically peek at what’s on their plates. If you’ve got a good eye, you’ll figure out what to order next.
I’m honestly disappointed to see the review section filled with poor ratings by people who complain about the service (which is bad, as it should be). Then there are the special wits who ordered all the wrong things and are shocked the food didn’t impress them. I know, I know—you’re thinking: why have those things on the menu at all? Well, that’s just how it is. Deal with it.
I think of Koshy’s like I do my grandfather—rusty, old, and deserving of a little slack. Maybe it’s time we all checked our towering expectations of immaculate service. Yes, I’ve had bad service there too. But that’s not what I want to talk about.
Koshy’s exists to serve its regulars—like an old-school club. If the staff recognises you, you’ll be served with care and familiarity. It’s a part of St. Mark’s Road’s fabric, and it means far more to its loyal patrons than just being a “restaurant experience.”
Koshy’s is an institution, serving a community that’s been in love with it for decades. It’s not about the food, or the bricks and mortar, or any one thing. It’s about the vibe—of an old (yes, rusty) establishment holding a thousand memories close to the hearts of those who return time and time again.
Koshy’s is your grandpa. He won’t understand you all at once, and you won’t get him all at once either. But please—don’t go about berating him in this “digital public space” of ours.
Let him be. Let him age. And if you’re lucky, let him become yours too.
Roshan Sureka (☆ 5/5)

The waiters are extremely rude and low key don’t give a shit. They would also force one to tip
Keeping that aside, the food here is really good. Cheese omelet and beef fry is a must try here. Also the mutton biryani. The ambience is wholesome, vintage aesthetics.
