Blossom Book House offers an extensive selection of pre-loved books, all at remarkably low prices, often ranging from ₹200 to ₹600 depending on the condition and rarity. Though there aren’t many comfy spots to sit and read, the space itself is vast, spanning an entire building floor with bookshelves at every turn. You’ll find everything from obscure comics to children’s books to literary classics. When it comes to classics, they stock multiple editions and translations. I personally love the Everyman’s Library prints, and if you look hard enough, you’ll spot a few tucked away in the far corners. Despite its long-standing popularity, Blossom retains a chill, unpretentious charm that encourages slow, meandering hours of discovery. A must-visit for book lovers!

Blossom Book House has a huge collection of old and new books. It also has branded merchandise. No place to sit, though. But hours can easily pass just browsing the stock of books.

Ummmm I love this place. It’s a must visit for book lovers visiting Bangalore. They have humongous collection of both second hand and new books. I especially love the various categories and genres of books they have on display(they even have a separate romance section)! The books are mostly organized in their proper sections but it’s a lot of disorganization. But to be frank I don’t mind that – because the best part of books is the serendipity of stumbling on books and Blossoms does this spectacularly. Also they delivery within the city without charges (maybe that’s available for purchases above a certain value). The manager of the store was very friendly and helpful. – ✨Serendipity index – very high – ☕️ Browsing index – very high, you can sit for hours without anybody disturbing you and juste joy the place or flip through books. Also know that some sections of the store can get musty with ac not working. – ️% Discount/membership – No – Secondhand books – Yes a very wide variety available. The prices are a bit steep for second hand books found elsewhere but the place makes up for it with sheet variety of books available so buy accordingly. – ️ Regional books – Average. Limited collection of Hindi and Kannada books. The store is pre dominantly English. – ‍♀️ Comics – Huge. I love their collection of magazines, they have so many ! But their condition and maintenance is not the best. A lot of them are chucked into boxes haphazardly and get torn up very easily. Also the comics are not cheap even the second hand ones. Can get for much cheaper from other places but then the titles are harder to find so it’s a balancing act. The Manga collection is also huge. – ♿ Wheelchair index – Low. While there is a ramp and lift both are nearly useless from a wheelchair user’s perspective – ramp is too steep and the lift is a bit narrow to enter. – ️ Parking – Difficult. There is no parking in front of the store but the metro station entrance is nearby.

The idea they create is they are a book store that has borrowed, used books and gives them out at half the price is completely false. ITs JUST A SALES GIMMICK. For example I bought a S.Radhakrishnan – the Bhagavadgita for 250Rs from blossom ON MAY 17. When I strip the price tag the original new book costs only 195. How’s a DONATED USED BOOK PRICED HIGHER THAN A NEW BOOK. Its a scam. People are being deceived for money. May be people have reasons to visit the store. But remember ALL BOOKS ARE PRICED HIGHER THAN ORIGINAL NEW BOOK PRICE. I would rather buy new book than buy used book at higher price.

I came here just to look for some books! First of all, the place is really cool and quite, and the book collection is amazing. In addition to English, there are books in other regional languages, graphic novels, and comics. It’s fantastic that Bengali story books of mixed genres have their own section. I really like it! Every staff is really helpful. You can visit this welcoming place on a laid-back weekend, and you’ll also receive a fair discount if you purchase books.

The silence in some nooks of this book haven transfers you to another dimension. A friend of mine introduced me to this place and I keep coming back once a while when I want to bulk read at once. All the books are at 20% off. The section in the front i.e the entrance bit is where most of the best sellers are. The place is quite organised and helpful with all the sections.

The Bookworm qualifies as one of the best bookshop experiences in India. The new setting is truly a joy to browse – two floors packed with books, floor to ceiling. The organization by sections is excellent – it is clear staff has taken great care to set each section right. At the entrance, a very well curated, large section of new books provides a taste of what is to come. The rest of the first floor is subdivided in a number of corridors and rooms, with an unmatched selection of used books. The second floor is similarly set – a lovely children section and and a marvelous History room, which can by itself fully justify a visit. Then there is the Rare Books Room, exceedingly well appointed. Beautiful, interesting editions, with a range of prices that allows reasonably priced discoveries. These are billed in the room and a member of the staff will come down to the cashier with the customer for payment. Throught the bookstore there is sufficient space and light to search happily and without stress. The Bookworm is the place to visit if you love books.

This is my most favourite bookstore in Bangalore. So rustic and old. It gives all the reader vibes. It is like a maze. You just get lost in there and it’s a heaven for book lovers. You can buy fresh as well as second hand books there. Must visit if you are a book lover.

From the outside, The Bookworm may appear to be a quaint, small bookstore, but don’t be deceived! This two-storeyed haven for book lovers is much larger than it seems. Inside, you’ll find a vast collection of thousands of books spanning a wide array of genres, including biographies, history, science, essays, self-help, fiction, non-fiction, and children’s books. The books are organized into clearly defined categories, making it easy to find the section you’re interested in. However, within each category, the books aren’t sorted, which can make locating a specific title a bit challenging. But for those who love to browse, this can be part of the charm, as you might stumble upon unexpected treasures. They should provide some good discounts, as they only provide 20% off on new books. They also accept old books, though the resale value isn’t particularly high. Additionally, the bookstore offers a lovely seating area on the terrace, providing a perfect spot to relax and dive into your new book. Whether you’re looking to buy, sell, or simply enjoy the atmosphere, The Bookworm is a fantastic place to spend an afternoon.

It is a charming bookstore that holds a special place for book lovers. I visited during their BTS 10th anniversary biography release event, and though they were new to BTS, their warmth and effort in organizing an event for fans were heartwarming. They ensured fans received their copies smoothly, whether in-store or via book mail. Bookworm is my go-to bookstore in Bangalore for discovering rare gems, including pre-loved treasures (I got an art book by Turner from there). Located on Church Street, it’s easily accessible by metro and a short walk from the station. It is a perfect spot for book enthusiasts and a must-visit for anyone who cherishes books.

Stumbled upon Oyekids while looking for something fun yet educational for my son—and I’m so glad I did! We picked up their kids’ speaker, and it’s been a game-changer. With 1000+ stories in English and Hindi, it’s more than just a toy—it’s become part of our daily routine. Great way to blend learning and entertainment without screen time. Highly recommend checking out their collection!

Well there’s really nothing to say about Sapna is there? One of the best book stores out there and I think the Staff know my face memorized atp because of the numerous amount of time I LIVE there. They’re super nice and give me atleast 25% percent discount on every book I pick out. (I’d be broke otherwise) Also I’m just talking about Novels here, if ur going for school books or workbooks they often don’t have stock in them. I’ve tried to find books for school but it’s barely in stock. But here are some books I’ve bought from sapna (2 of them are from church street but both places gives u 25% off on all recent bestselling books)

“Indian’s Oldest Bookstore” I love reading and was very excited to visit this oldest bookstore from the day I came across this in reels. From the start of the bookstore till the very end, from the right to the left, every nook and corner is filled with a wide range of books. From thrillers to horror, from fantasies to fairytale, from romance to comics, from self help to topic based books, from kids books to young adults, from Indian authors to International authors – they have it all. You name it and they have it. Apart from books, they also sell stationary, toys, tote bags, bookmarks and so on. Check out the place readers, I am sure you will love it! It’s next to the MG Road metro station, so the commutation is not an issue. Happy time! Happy reading!!

I went there reading on the net that it’s the oldest bookstore in India…which I realized on the way is not true! But still thought of checking it out. To be honest, it appeared to be just okay and more than that I felt disappointed seeing the space – its a huge place with some classy old world charm but seems to be ignored by the owners and not being upkept well. Whenever I am in Chennai, will try the one which is the oldest!

Even though the facade says 1844 ( which is when Higginbothams first opened book shop in Chennai), Higginbotham’s opened its first bookstore in Bangalore at M.G. Road (then known as South Parade) in 1905. The store was located in a two-storey Graeco-Roman-style building constructed in 1897. Oldest book store in Bengaluru, the store is a heaven for book lovers. They also sell stationery here

This is not the oldest bookstore in India; it’s a branch of the oldest bookstore (located in Chennai). Therefore, the tag of 1844 is somewhat misleading. For a place carrying so much heritage, it was truly disappointing. They carry an okay collection, and the focus seems to be more on stationery and toys for kids. You can visit for its heritage, but it’s not a must-visit place—especially on Church Street, where you will find many amazing bookstores. All in all, a disappointment. – ✨ Serendipity Index: 2/5 – ☕️ Browsing Index: 2/5 – ️% Discount/Membership: None – Secondhand Books: None – ️ Regional Books: Didn’t see any; if they have any, the collection is limited. – ‍♀️ Comics & Manga: 3/5 – ♿ Wheelchair Index: 4/5 (The first floor is not accessible, although it’s mostly toys, so not useful for book browsing.) – ️ Parking: Some parking is available on the road, but it’s not the best option.

The sheer breadth of titles available, particularly in STEM fields, is remarkable; it’s clear they cater to a very specific and often overlooked need for advanced texts. The offers are a definite draw, providing significant savings on what can often be quite expensive resources. It’s a place where finding precisely the material you need is often a real possibility.

The location, nestled within the Indian Institute of Science, adds a certain appeal. It’s a quiet haven for serious study and exploration. The presence of specialized literature> and the generally helpful staff contribute to a positive browsing experience. Accessing academic texts> like this is a major advantage, and a benefit to anyone pursuing higher education or research.

Not sure if one can find so many advanced STEM books physically anywhere else. Some of the topics are so niche and deep that it fills one with awe and yet humility and intimidation. There are large discounts available but since rare academic books tend to be costly, you might still have to shell out in four figures for non mainstream books. The only drawback is the prominence of right wing literature in the leisure reading section.

Please avoid this store if possible . I bought “Hop skip & Jump” for nursery here. They charged 1800+ here and the same kit is available in Flipkart for 1200. We don’t have an option to buy from somewhere else because the so called reputed schools have tie ups with them. The complete kit for kindergarten, nursery is around 3K and you are not allowed to remove any item from the kit. This is a new age loot.

The place is tucked away in a residential area, camouflaging the treasure it holds. The books are delicately picked. I have as left to wonder at the effort and planning that goes into making those choices. Engage in soulful moments with each book, holding and experiencing the authors as they take you through paths so less trodden. A testament of courage which chisels the artist and the writer out from the mundane. A must visit for children who are beginning their companionship with books. Highly recommended

They’ve got a great collection of books and also a nice place to buy stationery and other knick knacks. The vibe is chill, and the staff is super friendly, so you can browse without any interruptions. I was a bit confused at first, but it’s not a branch of Ganga Book Bureau. Also sadly no discounts.

This place is quite spacious and, from what I gather, it must have once been bustling with activity. However, it now feels somewhat lacking in energy. The management doesn’t seem to have much enthusiasm for the showroom, which reflects in the overall vibe. The staff appear uninterested and seem to lack the motivation to engage with customers or showcase the products effectively. I really hope the place doesn’t lose its spark entirely and finds a way to revive its former energy. It has potential, but it could definitely benefit from a little more attention and care.

I have been visiting Gangaram’s (earlier Axis) for over 10 years now … and the place has many wonderful memories. Of books, stationeries when different interests took over, cards (birthdays, new years’ – difficult to get as digital messaging takes over). Mr Kalro has been very helpful with his suggestions over this time – on books and on getting me things which were not available. So, going back here is always a drive I am happy to take. Please visit and keep your phone on silent. The pace will slightly slow down, it will be a worthwhile hour or two you spend there …

Visited this place out of curiosity. Bargain book hut is really a very catchy name especially for an authentic Indian like me. 😛 It’s a place with decent collection of books, not like a book fair but limited variety at reasonable prices. Along with the books other stationeries and gift items are available as well. Bought myself navy seals book for the offer price of 399/-. Good place, good discounts but can increase the varieties, hope we get to see more collections in upcoming days

There’s also a growing number of stores that combine books with other products like stationery or cafe services.

How do I find bookstores near me?

Finding bookstores nearby is easy! Utilize online search engines like Google Maps or specialized directory websites that list bookstores by location. Many bookstore websites also have store locator tools that you can use. Asking local friends or online communities can also be a helpful way to discover hidden gems near you.

Are there any bookstores that specialize in specific genres?

Absolutely. Bangalore has several bookstores specializing in genres beyond mainstream fiction. What are the opening hours of most bookstores?

Most larger chain bookstores generally have extended opening hours, often staying open until 9:00 PM or later.
