Chitrakala Parishat is a renowned school of art in Bangalore, with an enviable alumni list. Located in a tree-lined campus, CKP — as it is popularly known — has a museum, a store and a gallery worth visiting. The gallery has rotating exhibits while the museum has permanent displays of paintings and crafts. CKP comes alive during its much-awaited fests: the annual Handicraft Mela and the Chitra Santhe (art market), both of which provide outlets for artists and craftsmen.

Visit this place when there is an art retrospective of KG Subramanian going on. There are so many options to shop and indulge in. You can easily spend a ton of time and money at this place. Definitely recommend it if you are interested in buying local Indian handicrafts or clothes at reasonable prices.

A must-visit place if you’re keen on art and paintings. I visited this place back in February where there was a major arts exhibition during the month. Be it the main gallery or basement floor gallery, the craftsmanship is seen in all the paintings. They do have paintings for sale which might cost you a lot for the bigger canvas and vice versa. The other main attraction is the handicrafts and colorful textiles of various states of India sold in the exhibition stalls (flea market).

Very beautiful place. Many kinds of stalls available varying from accessories, clothes and handicrafts. Even beautiful paintings are there with excellent craftsmanship.

Loved the artworks here, I’d suggest for a better greenspace maintenance. And even more initiatives towards art schools/ colleges. But overall I loved the place and will keep visiting for sure.

When it comes to art collection, this is the must visit place in Bangalore. Artworks from all over the world have made their home in the heart of the city. Besides artworks and paintings, one can get good stuff for home decor, textiles, hand embroidered kurtis, cushion covers and bed spreads, handmade articles, brass / wooden items, jewelry, antique pieces from various parts of the country. There are various exhibition stalls available for various articles. A minimum of half day can be spent in just going through the display. Renovation work is also going on parallelly. So don’t know what surprise is awaiting for my next visit.

I had a great experience visiting this place. The topics covered are excellent and very helpful for school students. I noticed many students enjoying their time and engaging with the exhibits. I recently visited the Visvesvaraya Industrial & Technological Museum and absolutely loved the experience! The entry ticket was just ₹95, and it was totally worth it. The museum is packed with fun, educational, and interactive exhibits across science, technology, and innovation. From space and robotics to engines and biology, every floor had something fascinating to explore. It’s perfect for curious minds of all ages. I spent hours there and still felt like there was more to see. A must-visit spot in Bangalore if you love science or just want a fun and informative outing!

Good place day outing for adults and kids. Quite good informative details. There are 4 floors for each section. It will take 4-5 hours at-least of you go through every section. Canteen is also available but food is not that good. Parking is available. There are limited time videos presentations are also there for each type.

A very nice place to visit in Bangalore, especially if you love music. The Indian Music Experience is a museum where you can learn about different types of Indian music – like classical, folk, and Bollywood songs. You can see old instruments, listen to music, and even try playing some instruments. The museum is clean and well-organized. The sound garden outside is peaceful and fun.

If you are a die heart music lover then this place is for you, this place has all history of the Indian Music, the origin of music, significance of music in life, as well as the importance of music for health. Jazz, Pop, Classical, Bollywood and many more… all type of music has been covered in this place.

Basically they have created a section and in that section you can listen the music, you can create your own too..

My fav spot is Indian Classical Gharana, and The Instrumental place where all the recorded music is stored.

I would definitely recommend this place for visit. It will take a whole day if you have to listen and see thoroughly.

This place has ₹250 entry fee. There is shopping centre at the end. You may shop the idols, statues, some cloths and stationery items.

Excellent place for music enthusiasts, especially Indian music. From the architecture, ambiance to versatile collection of musical instruments, artists, their compositions, evolution of music everything is just perfect.
One feedback: people should be allowed to explore these instruments and the store just has a few western instruments. They should be selling all the instruments that are displayed, in my opinion

Absolutely loved this place. So many other thematic museums can take inspiration from this place. Was well designed and the experiences were interesting even for someone not too much into music.

The only negative about this place would be that it’s really great when it’s not crowded. I went when it wasn’t and was able to try out all the experiential stuff at my own pace, but if there are too many people it can difficult to try out everything properly.

A lovely place for all music lovers to experience music. One can spend 4 – 7 hours exploring the various galleries dedicated to Indian Music. As one of the wonderful volunteers mentioned, every visit will definitely enlighten us with something new about music.

A clean and well-maintained place spread across five floors, offering a beautiful and pleasant environment. It is located right in front of the Bangalore High Court, making it easily accessible. At times, they offer free visits, which adds to the overall charm and experience.

By far one of the best museums in the city. The digital rooms are always a visual sensation. Multiple stories of well preserved archives, sculptures and paintings. Their cute little store on the ground floor is a must visit too. There’s also a locker to keep personal belongings for free, alongside a nice cafe in the basement. Tuesday’s are free entry, so plan accordingly! Parking is a bit of a hassle, but it’s worth the experience inside xD

フロアごとに異なる展覧会が行われ、一階の受付で見たい展覧会を選んで料金を払うシステムになっています。私がいった際には、「VISIBLE/INVISIBLE」様々なアートに表現された女性に関する展示や「Ticket Tika Chaap」イギリスの植民地時代にインドからの輸出品に貼られた商標マークの展示などが行われていました。展示一箇所につき100ルピーほどだったと思います。
建物もモダンで内装もきれい、展示も洗練されていますので、訪れて損はないかと思います。地下一階にはカフェとロッカー、トイレもあります。

One of the best museums I’ve visited in India. Weirdly I had to pay for all the floors separately and I was recommended 2 hours for the entire place. But with my pace where I wanted to read everything, it took about 3-4 hours and I didn’t even have the capacity for one of the floors. But I loved what I saw and read and experienced.

As an architect, the whole experience was good. It’s a must visit place for art fanatics. You are treated every affably and can get a mindful insight of the whole building. No art show or play is fixed around the year, it changes from month to month. The building and it’s surrounding is maintained very neat and clean. It’s a architectural marvel. The interiors are Human centric and the whole building is aur conditioned. You need to buy tickets for particular events, sometimes there are free.

Overall, the overall ambience is really good and soothing.

Had a really nice time at the Museum of Art & Photography in Bangalore. There are so many beautiful artworks, old stamps, and pieces from different eras to explore. The interactive screen was my favorite part…we got to create postcards and send photographs that were instantly displayed inside the museum. It’s a cool mix of history and technology, definitely worth visiting if you’re in the city. try visiting early on a Tuesday since entry is free and you’ll get more time to enjoy the exhibits without the crowds.

It was a very pleasant stay during my trip to Bangalore.

Centrally located place. 4 halls are available. One on the ground floor Bapu hall seats 140 people with a door behind leading to a space where nourishment can be served. The 1st floor has Vinobha Hall. The 2nd floor has an AC hall named after Mahadev Desai which can host 180 people and has good accoustics, 2 toilets on the stage, no green room. Costed around 25k, prior booking needed. There is a conference room for 4k which can accomodate about 30 -40 people. A massive hall in the 2nd floor is also available with plastic chairs and very low ceiling.

The institution continues to uphold the Gandhian agenda through the programmes they host there. The place itself has an old world charm, and is reminiscent of institutions designed in the 70s, 80s and early 90s.
It has a lift, comfortable stairs, and has a central courtyard which provides visual relief. Those with mobility issues should not face a problem getting to the upper floors.

One problem you could face is the lack of adequate parking within the campus, which forces most car owners to find space in the neighbouring streets. That could be a challenge on weekdays. Ideally get there by public transport or cabs.

Well maintained place with a pretty good library and a spacious auditorium. Lot of events and activities organised for people in their golden years. An inexpensive lunch facility for the aged. Govt can still do a little better for this type of facilities.

The auditorium is small and can accommodate approx 200 members. Found the stage also to be small. Decent and found the auditorium clean.. washrooms are not maintained well.

Curiouscity Science Center off Sarjapur Road in Bangalore is a must visit science and games destination for kids. If you are looking for a meaningful weekend break with your kids then you must take them to this wonderland spread across 2 acres of land. From interactive science exhibits, illusion and escape rooms, kid’s play zone to animal and butterfly parks, this place has everything that kids love. Younger kids too have a lot of things to play here. We all loved this place a lot and we will be visiting soon…

1. We visited this place on a weekend day Sunday. Manageable crowd.
2. Staffs were very helpful starting from the reception. Staffs explained us the science behind every concept/activity.
3. You need to book tickets only through online mode.
4. There was a small group activity for the Children.
5. Staffs explained the concepts. Even few could speak Tamil.
6. Really enjoying for the kids. Children of age group 10 and above would really enjoy. But there is no age restrictions.
Overall a nice experience to spend a half day useful and enjoyable.

Good for kids above 4th standard. Lot of time is wasted in auditorium even after the program. Escape room is good for kids. For kids 8 to 13 years chemistry escape room and for 13+ kids physics escape room is suggested. It’s better to be there by 10 AM if you want to get max. Benifit. 1 to 2 PM closed for lunch. Cafeteria food is OK, Noodles and sandwich is good but lemonoid was too sugary. You can carry food/ snacks from home if you have small kids

Delighted to see and experience this science center. Weekend they conduct 2 sessions morning 10 to 1 and afternoon 2 to 5. Entry fees is little expensive which I felt is more. Especially useful for kid’s for one who understands experiment, may be class 3 or 4 onwards.

Amazing place! Science made fun and entertaining for children. All the volunteers are very friendly and knowledgeable. They make it very interactive while explaining various laws or experiments to children. A must visit place for all children and science enthusiasts. The ticket price is well justified for the experience you get. They are open only on weekends and that too only 2 slots of 3hrs each per day. We felt 3 hrs is too less to cover the entire center. With the escape room and the activity at the auditorium we hardly covered half of the center. Still it was worth the price. Will definitely be going again to cover the rest. Our 13yr and 8yr old children had lots of fun.

Tucked right in the middle of the city, yet far away from all its chaos, this place is pure calm. The lush trees, shrubs, and blooming flowers make you feel like you’ve stepped into a little oasis. The entry fee for Indians is just ₹20 – a small price for the peace and beauty you’ll find here.

Once inside, you’ll be asked to leave your bags at the store near the entrance and collect a token. The main art gallery sits in a charming old building that itself feels like a piece of history. The ground floor is home to the incredible works of the legendary Nandalal Bose, while the upper floors are filled with artworks that truly stop you in your tracks – acrylics, watercolours, oils, mixed media, ink, and pencil sketches, all beautifully displayed.

The building’s design, its thoughtful upkeep, and the warm politeness of the staff deserve a special mention. Practical touches like the lift, auditorium, washrooms, and a small cafeteria on the ground floor make the visit even smoother.

The place is good with displays of art. The ticket costs Rs. 20 for Indians, there was no rush. There is a cafe , souvenir shop (both of them offer reasonable price for everything) as well as an art archive above the cafeteria. Personal photographs are not allowed, though you can take photos of the gallery. The security guards were not really welcoming, they kept on following us everywhere, which felt a bit intimidating

First visit, and I was honestly surprised. 20rs ticket, and what you get is priceless. Beautiful old building, peaceful garden, and rooms filled with art I’ve never seen before. Felt calm and curious the whole time. It’s not crowded or loud just quiet, thoughtful, and very different from usual places in Bangalore.

A perfect place to slow down and see something new.

Entry fee is just Rs. 20 for Indians. Every room has security personnel that are doing their job diligently, at times it feels like they are stalking you but they are super friendly and helpful. However, if you have any doubts, there’s no one for clarification. I was told that guided tours are conducted on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 4 pm (please call the museum to confirm). Art is subjective, so cannot comment on it. I just want to point out that visit this museum with an open mind, not just by the name of the museum. There were paintings and sculptures (wooden, metal, stone, etc.). While it’s kept well in terms of cleanliness and organization, there’s lingering foul smell in the hall on the first floor. There’s a gift shop, with the items reasonably priced. Behind that you could find the canteen (by the looks of it and the menu, I only purchased a water bottle). And beside the canteen, drinking water and bathrooms (not-so-clean) are available. Art library can be accessed from the adjacent staircase. I spent around 90 minutes, time well spent.

The place is peaceful with lush greenary. There is a variety of paintings and artwork. The paintings reflect various situations and themes that are on based, society, culture, history etc.

Really nice gallery, the art was wonderful and the space and area itself were quite peaceful. However, I didn’t quite understand the rules around not being allowed to take videos of the place/pictures of yourself next to the art. Respected it regardless, of course, but the constant presence of staff in each room, closely watching and following visitors, made the experience a bit uncomfortable. I get that they’re there to ensure the rules are followed, but the way it was handled felt a little intrusive.

Such a calm and serene place. One can spend ample of time here peacefully in weekend. They have artifacts getting changed once in every 3months. Security is tight and restrictions are high. Not at all allowed to capture photos for most of the arts, and not even selfies or photos are allowed to click in the building.
In the same premises, in the side by block, we have small cafeteria, washrooms. Cafeteria has an open outdoor sitting with a very natural view of trees. I just felt like eating by sitting in my balcony. Library is also available. Whole place is just

Had one of the greatest experiences. Being able to touch and hold a real human brain! Gaining a basic understanding of the brain beyond your prior knowledge and actually handling it in real time is a spectacular opportunity. This museum is the only one in India that provides you with this chance. There’s so much more to discover here, with a myriad of brain sections to explore.
However, taking photos inside isn’t allowed..

Awesome experience for me and my lil kid to be able to see before brains and internal organs on person and to be able to hold them too. There is ample space for public parking. One thing to note is that the museum remains closed on second Saturday of every month. There is a vending machine at the reception and again toilet maintain at the back. Photography is prohibited inside the room.
Good 1-2 hours of offbeat experience within the city, although it might not be to everyone’s taste. There are no charges for any tickets for this experience. There’s a project research scientist to explain everything about the brain and museum in detail.

Very informative and good for kids especially if someone is inclined towards studying medicine. They give a small session and explain various parts of human brain and their significance. They also let you touch various specimens, like human brain which you may not get to do else where. They answered all questions patiently and with lot interest. Kudos to them for doing this with lots interest and that too for free. Pls plan to be there by 10:30 as they have the session during that time… BTW it’s open for public only on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The museum is a must visit for people interested in mechanics of watches. Very nice garden and space around. Gift shop sells HMT watches and has a good range. But timings of the ” time keeper” are very unreliable. Board says opens at 10.30am but did not open till 11.10am on a Sunday.

This is one of those underrated places in the city that is an absolute treat for all the watch lovers out there. They have an amazing collection of vintage watches made by HMT throughout the past few decades that gives us a glimpse of how far we have come with respect to watches in such a short span of time.
I went on a Sunday and was surprised to not see a single person within the museum which is a shame because this place deserves to be crowded all day of the year. The entrance fee also is pretty nominal at just rupees 30.
Yet another example of how the government babus can do a lot yet not do anything to popularize such places which would throw light on our country’s legacy.

A beautifully maintained place which shows the history of hmt watches. It has two floors, the ground floor has everything about watches. The first floor has equipment and tractor based parts. Never knew hmt was in manufacturing of tractors till I visited the museum. There is a tractor ride as well for an extra cost which is fun for both kids and adults. They have a small park for kids too. They have a souvenir shop as well.

The museum is quiet, less crowded, and offers a mix of history, engineering, and pride in Indian innovation – a must-visit for those interested in heritage and industry.

Had a great time exploring the Param Science Centre with the kids. The interactive exhibits, fun experiment, and hands-on activities made learning exciting and enjoyable for everyone. It was a perfect mix of education and entertainment – the kids were curious, engaged and full of questions.
The staff were extremely supportive and co-operative, making the experience smooth and enjoyable.
Overall had a wonderful experience.

PARSEC is a great place for science lovers – kids and adults, both. Lot of fun exhibits explaining concepts of physics, chemistry, maths. Many of these are interactive and touch screens are put up.

Staff is helpful. You’ll need 1-2 hours to explore all floors.

Param is a great place for those who are interested in science. I recommend visiting if your kids are below 15 years old—it’s definitely worth coming at least once. For college-going students, it might feel a bit basic.

The entry fee was around ₹300 when I booked; if you book online, it’s ₹250. The same rate applies for anyone above 3 years of age. You can comfortably explore everything within an hour.

5 floors of different science techniques…there are volunteers every place to actively help. No rush! Peace full to spend time…took one and half to explore different things out there….More reasoning for each section would help learn more about its importance…booked on BookMyShow and entry was smooth with it…not food and water allowed inside..they have option to keep them aside.

Overall well run science center primarily because of the mentors in each floor who facilitate the experience. Kudos !! Continue this way. Definitely worth the money.

We have pre booked the tickets on bookmyshow., there was no wait. All the exhibits were amazing. But what we felt is the given one hour slot is not sufficient to finish entire 4 floors and experience the magic. So would request the organisers to increase the overall time to feel the whole magic and experience.

A wonderful experience for students, teachers and for lay visitors alike.
Located a few minutes walk from the Jayanagar Metro station, it has educational and interactive exhibits, that capture the interest of visitors. The exhibits are imaginatively arranged in four floors and the basement.
